The building is open 6:30–21:30 and refuses entry before 6:30. Airfield hours in the use rules are 7:30–21:30, and they can be extended for a delayed flight, works, or an emergency.
There is no train at the terminal. The Kyushu Sanko limousine to Kumamoto Station leaves from stand 4, about 65 minutes, ¥1,400. The special rapid to Sakuramachi bus terminal leaves from stand 3, about 45 minutes, ¥1,400.
The airport liner to JR Higo-Ozu leaves from stand 6, about 15 minutes, and has been a flat ¥200 since 1 July 2026. The airport FAQ still calls it a free shared taxi. Buy the liner ticket from the indoor machine by exit C, not from the bus ticket machines.
Lounge ASO, on level 3 in the domestic departure hold, is free for airline-lounge passengers and for the partner cards named on the airport lounge page. It is not available after exit immigration, and the page does not list a walk-in price.
Shanghai Pudong and Hong Kong are marked suspended on the destination list. The English timetable page is still headed 1–9 September and also lists single-date suspensions, so recheck the airline.
The domestic passenger facility charge is ¥320 for ages 12 and over on departure and again on arrival, and ¥160 for ages 3–11. The international charge is departure only: ¥1,900 for ages 12 and over, ¥950 for ages 2–11. It is collected with the ticket.
Coin lockers are the only luggage storage. KUMAMOTO Free Wi-Fi needs an email or social login the first time. Free USB-B, USB-C, and Lightning cables are in the level-1 event space, and seats after security on level 3 have outlets.
Fog is common on this plateau. Runway 07 has ILS Category III/II, and MLIT records Category IIIb from April 2006. Do not plan a tight connection.

The operator and Ozu town date the flat fare to 1 July 2026. Tickets are sold indoors by exit C. The JR fare from Higo-Ozu to Kumamoto Station is not on the airport page.

Cheaper than the limousine if you are connecting by train.

Watch-out

It is a shared taxi, with less luggage room than the coach, and it does not reach Kumamoto Station by itself.
