The passenger campus is three pieces, not one mega-terminal. T1 is the older domestic hall, about 7,655 m², with a published 10 check-in desks, 5 gates, and 2 jet bridges. T2 opened on 28 October 2018, about 16,972 m², with a published 22 desks, 7 gates, 5 bridges, and 7 security lanes. The international hall sits on the west side at about 3,500 m² after a 2016 rebuild. Those three areas are the figure that adds up to about 28,127 m².
T2 is the main domestic room: baggage reclaim, a mother-and-baby room, and a special-assistance desk are published there, and the building has Wi-Fi. The network name is not published.
The six “VIP rooms” inside T2 are private reception rooms, not a second lounge you can enter with Priority Pass.
The runway in use is 09/27, 2,800 m by 45 m, concrete about 36 cm thick, with 7.5 m shoulders. The parallel taxiway is the old runway, about 176 m to the north. On 16 January 2020 the North China regional administration raised the field from 4C to 4D and capped the largest approved aircraft at the Boeing 757-200. Older copy that says a 767-300 is fine predates that licence.
Stands are a small apron: about 20 positions in late 2025, of which 14 passenger stands are Code C, 4 are Code D, 7 of the passenger stands are contact, and 2 extra Code C spots are for the cold-weather test and maintenance base. That hangar, opened in January 2024, is not a terminal.
Peak declared capacity has been 12 movements an hour since the August 2022 approval, up from 8. The 2022 master plan’s 63,000 m² pier terminal and the runway stretch to 3,200 m are planning targets for 2035, not buildings you can use now.
Elevation is about 660 m. Wikipedia’s infobox says 661 m (2,169 ft). A Chinese compilation that cites the AIP says 659.5 m. The map pin used here is 49.207774, 119.824685.

The airport sits on Airport Street in Shengli Subdistrict, on the east side of Hailar. The usual published road distance into the district is about 3 km. A travel-guide “13 km” figure belongs to older Dongshan blurbs; do not budget a half-hour transfer for a trip that is a few kilometres.
There is no metro and no airport railway. The north airport bus is the one that calls at Hailar railway station and the long-distance bus station. The south bus calls at the city government side of town. Both are published at CNY 5, with times that follow the flight bank rather than a fixed clock. The shuttle note puts boarding outside door 5 and the drop-off outside door 3. Confirm the next departure at the stop; the live timetable page was not open when this was checked.
