Most important tips
A compact traveler cheat sheet for timing, terminals, food, and disruption checks.
VNO/KUN CT leave-in-bag (≤2 L liquids); Fast Track (€7) only skips the queue. Pack classic 100 ml if your return airport still requires it.
Vilnius and Kaunas cleared the C3 / EC liquids change on 22 Aug 2025: leave devices and liquids in cabin bags, with containers up to 2 litres allowed under the airport/LTOU notice (airline piece-weight rules still apply). Ryanair / Wizz / airBaltic banks still fill the single security filter — buy Fast Track (€7; under-7 free) when the departures hall looks heavy. Intra-Schengen travellers with mobile boarding passes and no bags to drop can sometimes tighten toward 90 minutes off-peak; keep a full two hours for checked bags, non-Schengen passport control, or first-wave departures. Terminal rebuild works through 2026 can move temporary corridors — follow live signs.
Shared security upstairs; lounge is Schengen airside — pick your zone before you settle.
Use the Feb 2025 departures terminal for check-in and security (level 2). After screening, confirm Schengen vs non-Schengen before camping in retail — Aspire / Luxe by Aspire sit airside Schengen on the upper level (lift / stairs; Estravel/LTOU map). Non-Schengen departures should not assume lounge access without the right sterile zone. Gate walks are short by European capital standards; still re-check boards after a lounge stop. Arrivals still use the evolving legacy reclaim side while the dedicated arrivals build is planned later this decade.
Café-scale airside F&B; Aspire covers a real snack wait; city dining still wins.
Expect travel-retail coffee, bakeries and casual plates rather than a destination food court. Aspire’s buffet emphasises Lithuanian/seasonal items and specialty coffee (Estravel opening write-up); Luxe by Aspire is the quieter premium pocket when your ticket unlocks it. Buy sealed water landside if you want a guaranteed bottle, then use airside washrooms / signed points — Lithuanian tap water is potable. For proper Vilnius food, eat in the city before you arrive (Old Town is a short bus or Bolt ride).
Record 2025 volumes; use Aspire (not Narbutas); confirm PP in the live app.
Vilnius cleared five million passengers in 2025 and kept growing into 2026 despite autumn 2025 balloon-related airspace interruptions reported across the LTOU network. The mid-August 2026 Aspire/Luxe opening is the live lounge product — ignore Narbutas walk-up coupons after 9 Aug 2026. Priority Pass was still finalising as of late August 2026 traveler reports. Commercial rebuild of old terminal shells runs through ~2026; treat wayfinding as live. Do not confuse VNO with KUN (Kaunas) or assume Palanga shares the 2 L liquids rule.
New ~750 m² Swissport Aspire complex (opened mid-Aug 2026) with hot Lithuanian-leaning buffet, showers, call booths and a separate Luxe room. Strong walk-up product while Priority Pass finishes contracting — verify card networks in the live app. Schengen airside only.
