Terminal 1: Larger 2007 building with the distinctive Bedouin-tent roof halls joined by the wedge-shaped “boat” transit space (passport control, duty-free, VIP). Most first-time international leisure passengers clear this hall. Gates feed remote stands — expect bus boarding on many turns.
Terminal 2: Original terminal, modernised in 2004 and expanded; Egypt Today reported in November 2019 that completed works took published airport capacity to 9 million passengers a year and raised gate count. Still an active international/domestic product for part of the schedule. Airside Pearl sits on the ground floor opposite Gate 10; landside Pearl sits after check-in toward immigration.
No Terminal 3 for passengers. A 2008–09 plan to add a third terminal and extra runway was not delivered as a working passenger hall. Ignore blogs that invent a “VIP Terminal 3.”
Landside: Separate curbs and check-in islands — confirm airline desk signs. There is no extensive sterile airside walkway that lets you treat both halls as one post-security campus for lounge hopping.
Arrivals: Immigration, baggage, and customs process on the arrivals level; ground transport is immediately outside. Currency exchange and SIM desks are commonly present in arrivals — compare rates before changing large amounts. GOV.UK: you may bring up to EGP 5,000 and must declare foreign currency over USD 10,000.
Signage: Arabic / English. Coach dispatchers and hotel reps dominate the arrivals hall acoustics more than overhead gate calls.

No rail. SSH is road-only for passengers.
Hotel / tour transfers: Dominant product for package guests — driver meeting points in arrivals; confirm flight-number monitoring when you book.
Airport taxis: Official ranks outside arrivals, 24 hours on the passenger-info portal. Agree the fare in EGP before the trip. The same portal publishes bargaining bands (for example Naama Bay on the order of ~150–250 EGP, Nabq higher) that are not a meter tariff. Child seats are rarely available in street taxis; pre-book a transfer if you need one.
