Most important tips

Know before you go

A compact traveler cheat sheet for timing, terminals, food, and disruption checks.

Timing

Saturday closed — hours are daytime bands around the DAT banks

Tiny terminal; Saturday closure plus short-runway weather are the planning constraints — pad OSL connections.

SRP is a one-terminal regional airport, so walking times inside are short. The real planning constraints are the published **Saturday closed** window, Vestland weather on a **~1,460 m** 14/32 asphalt strip, and weekday hours **05:30–19:15** that still leave little margin if DAT’s Oslo bank moves. Pad same-day **OSL** connections even when the hall looks empty.

Terminal

One compact passenger building on Sørstokken — opened 1985

Single fixed-wing terminal; no named café on the official Servicetilbod list; walking distances are short.

Check-in and bag drop sit landside in the single passenger terminal. There is no second fixed-wing terminal and no airside train. Re-check screens; gate calls still move when wind, low cloud, rain, or winter precipitation slows the field. Visiting address: **Flyplassvegen 344, 5410 Sagvåg**. About page notes a modern terminal/fire station from the 2000s and published plans to expand security facilities and build a new tower — confirm on the day what is open.

Food

No named café on Servicetilbod — eat in Leirvik or on the aircraft

Official service page lists no café or kiosk; treat F&B as unreliable and eat in town or onboard.

Official Servicetilbod currently advertises short journey time, short check-in, free EV charging, and free internet — it does **not** name a café, kiosk, or Tax Free outlet. Assume you may find nothing open after security and eat in Leirvik / Sagvåg or accept DAT catering. Confirm on the day rather than trusting third-party “airport restaurant” blogs.

Status

No lounge — taxi default; Entur stop exists, live buses may not

Zero lounges; no published airport coach; Entur stop is not a guaranteed bus — taxi / rental; paid parking from 14 Sep 2026; no airport rail.

There is no Priority Pass / LoungeKey / walk-up passenger lounge on current Stord Lufthamn service pages. Transport og parkering documents taxi (Stord Taxi **07000**, Taxi 08181 Stord **08181**, Taxi1 Stord **05501**) and car hire (Avis / Hertz / Vestbilutleie) — cabin crew also take taxi bookings on Oslo→Stord flights. Entur stop **Stord lufthavn** (**NSR:StopPlace:59233**) exists; research-day live sample showed no calls — treat bus as optional live-check only. Parking is **paid from 14 September 2026** (2 hours free, then published Sesam-Sesam rates) beside the terminal plus an **80**-space lower lot, with free EV charging and free accessible bays. No rail at the curb.

Honest verdict

Who this airport works for

Best for

Stord / Sunnhordland trips that want a tiny terminal and a short DAT hop via Oslo
DAT PSO travellers connecting via Oslo Gardermoen
Travellers who will eat in Leirvik and use taxi, Avis/Hertz/Vestbilutleie, or the 2-hour free / paid Sesam-Sesam lot

Watch out for

No passenger lounge — Priority Pass / LoungeKey will not help here
Servicetilbod lists no named café or kiosk — treat terminal F&B as absent
Parking is paid from 14 September 2026 — the old free-all-day product is gone (2 hours free, then 85 kr/h / 200 kr/24 h)
Kontakt hours list Saturday closed — do not invent weekend landside access
No published airport coach; Entur Stord lufthavn may show zero live buses
~1,460 m 14/32 asphalt plus Vestland weather still moves OSL connections

Stord Airport, Sørstokken (Nynorsk Stord lufthamn), IATA **SRP** / ICAO **ENSO**, sits on Sørstokken on the west side of Stord island in Vestland — about an **18-minute** drive from Leirvik / Leirvik centre per the airport’s own About page. Visiting / postal address on the Kontakt page: **Flyplassvegen 344, 5410 Sagvåg**. Official hub: stordlufthamn.no. Do not confuse it with Bergen Flesland (**BGO**), Haugesund Karmøy (**HAU**), Florø (**FRO**), or Stavanger Sola (**SVG**).
Operator: **Sunnhordland Lufthavn AS** (not Avinor). About page: Stord municipality owns the airfield; the operating company is owned **79%** by Stord kommune and **21%** by Vestland fylkeskommune, with about **22** full-time staff covering all roles including security (About page, checked 16 Sep 2026). Store norske leksikon: opened **25 October 1985**. Fully civilian regional field — not a military airbase.
Traffic: official airport news (4 Jan 2026) — **52,661** passengers on DAT’s Oslo route in calendar **2025** (**+16,298** / **+44.8%** vs **36,363** in **2024**; cabin factor **71.7%** vs **62.2%**). That 2024 route figure matches SNL’s Avinor-sourced 2024 airport total, so treat **52,661** as the published 2025 airport figure on a one-route field. Airport / Hangar note (2 Sep 2026): **39,138** travellers used DAT’s Oslo route in **January–August 2026** (**+16.9%** / **+5,665** vs the same months a year earlier); cabin factor for that period **80.3%**. Treat the 2026 figure as a route YTD update, not a full-year total. The current FOT contract runs through **October 2027**.
One asphalt runway **14/32**, about **1,460 ×** (English Wikipedia / airport About page **1460 m**). SNL publishes TODA **1,799 / 1,799 m** and elevation **46.6 m** — physical length and declared distances differ; prefer the live AIP when dispatching. English Wikipedia / OurAirports field elevation about **49 m / 161 ft** MSL.
No rail at the curb. Official Transport og parkering page lists **taxi** and **rental car** only — no scheduled airport coach. Entur stop **Stord lufthavn** (**NSR:StopPlace:59233**) exists; a live journey-planner sample on research day returned **no** departures in 24 h — treat bus as must-verify, not a flight-bank flybuss. Taxi remains the reliable default (~**18 min** to Leirvik).
Security is handled by airport staff (About page). No passenger lounge is advertised on Servicetilbod. Official service list (checked 16 Sep 2026) highlights short journey time, short check-in, **free EV charging**, and **free internet** — it does **not** name a café, kiosk, Tax Free shop, or free parking. Treat F&B as absent and confirm on the day. Parking became **paid from 14 September 2026** (Transport og parkering): **2 hours free**, then **85 kr/hour**, **200 kr/24 h**, **850 kr/week**, **1,125 kr/2 weeks**, **1,430 kr/3 weeks**, then **210 kr/week**; accessible bays stay free; payment via on-site machine or Sesam-Sesam (app / web within 48 h / invoice fees apply). Lower lot capacity is **80** cars. Hub airline: **DAT** (Danish Air Transport) on the Oslo PSO — About page: **16** weekly Stord–Oslo–Stord round-trips on **ATR-42** (**48** seats), about **50 minutes**; FOT entry from **April 2024**. Published terminal hours (Kontakt / footer): Mon–Fri **05:30–19:15**; **Saturday closed**; Sunday **11:30–20:00**.
