Peak-summer and non-Schengen EES queues are the delay mode — pad connections and show up at check-in open.

SKG is a mid-size Fraport Greece field, but July–August international charters and Aegean/Ryanair banks pack T1/T2 landside hard. The airport’s own border-control notice flags longer Entry/Exit System (EES) waits for non-Schengen departures — arrive when check-in opens and finish emigration early. Same-day ATH or island connections with checked bags need a real buffer, especially when the main 10/28 approach is weather-limited.

Connected T1/T2 campus; confirm Schengen vs non-Schengen before you settle into a café or lounge.

Follow terminal and gate screens after the central security filter; Schengen and non-Schengen dwell areas and F&B differ. Lounges cluster airside (AEGEAN on the departures ground floor; Prima Vista / The Lounge / Skyserv upstairs). Landside is for meet-and-greet and CITYPARK lots opposite the terminal — do not kerb-park on arrivals/departures roadways.

Solid café / burger / Greek-plate mix airside; choice thins on off-peak winter banks.

Airport Shop & Dine lists Artisan Bakery and Gregory’s in the all-users departures area; Burger King, Davinci, and Eatgreek Kouzina in the Schengen / all-passenger airside zone; Holy Burger and Il Maestro on the non-Schengen side; Fabrica landside and Flocafe outside. Hellenic Duty Free covers both Schengen and non-Schengen. Hours track the flight programme — early winter mornings can be thin outside the first café to open.

OASTH airport buses from Exit 4; taxi between T1/T2; CITYPARK first 20 minutes free.

Default budget path is OASTH 1X (day) / 1N (night) from Exit 4 toward centre / New Railway Station / KTEL Makedonia; 2X and 3X feed Nea Elvetia and Mikra metro for Line 1 transfers. Taxi rank sits between T1 and T2 (exits 3–4). CITYPARK P3–P8: first 20 minutes free, then published hourly tariffs (P4 short-stay is the pricey curb-close option; P3/P6/P7/P8 for longer stays). Free Wi-Fi: join Fraport-Free and open a browser.
