A compact traveler cheat sheet for timing, terminals, food, and disruption checks.

Timing

Trust the live security board, not the clock

Check the Avinor site for security wait—typically under 15 minutes, often 5–10 outside morning peaks.

Security and bag drop open around 04:00; leave earlier only if you have checked bags and a long walk to far F gates.

Terminal

Confirm F before you linger at duty-free

Gates A–C are domestic; D–E Schengen international; F is non-Schengen after passport control.

Sitting near A with an F boarding pass is a classic fail—passport queues plus the pier walk eat soft connections.

Food

Eat real food airside, skip lounge soup

Use Fiskeriet, BIT Union, or similar for a proper meal—independent lounge food is repeatedly called thin.

Everything is priced for Norway; a solid fish & chips or focaccia beats paying NOK 445 for mediocre OSL Lounge snacks.

Status

Priority Pass is useless here—plan status or cash

OSL has no Priority Pass lounges; use SAS/SkyTeam status, Dragon Pass/LoungeKey, or buy a day pass.

Amex Platinum access is limited to Nordic-issued Centurion/Platinum on OSL Lounges; UK Plat has been refused since 2024 rule changes.
