TRF is a compact single-terminal field, so walks are short — the schedule risk is Vestfold weather on a lone 18/36 runway plus Ryanair / Wizz / SAS / Norwegian / Widerøe / airBaltic banks that bunch. The building closes after the last arrival and does not allow overnight stays; indicative hours are 04:15–24:00 with doors opening about two hours before the first departure. Same-day connections via Oslo (train + shuttle, Torp-Ekspressen, or road) need a real buffer even when the landside hall looks empty.

Check-in and bag drop sit landside in the single terminal (airline desk opening windows on the check-in page are typically about 1.5–2 hours before departure and close about 1 hour before — follow your carrier’s board). After security, follow domestic vs international signage before you settle into Ymse, Upper Crust, or Point. Tagomats support online-checked bags for Ryanair, Norwegian, SAS, airBaltic, Wizz Air, Widerøe, and SunClass when that product is offered. Re-check screens; gate calls still move when weather slows the field.
