Metro Manila’s essential but fragmented gateway: improving under NNIC, still punished by split terminals with no airside link, heavy peak queues, and traffic-bound ground transport.

Most important tips
A compact traveler cheat sheet for timing, terminals, food, and disruption checks.
International departures: plan about 3 hours curb-to-gate on busy days; domestic still wants 2–2.5 hours when check-in banks stack.
MNL’s pain is not only security length — it is terminal wrong-building risk plus landside Manila traffic. Same-airport “connections” that change terminals are landside only (exit, shuttle or Grab, re-screen). Self-transfer passengers should treat 3–4+ hours as the honest minimum when terminals differ; same-terminal online check-in passengers can sometimes run tighter, but holiday peaks erase that margin.
Airline–terminal maps keep moving under NNIC rationalization — your e-ticket terminal beats any static guide list.
Rough current pattern: T1 international-heavy (PAL international + many foreign carriers), T2 PAL domestic-centric, T3 Cebu Pacific plus a large international mix. AirAsia and several foreign carriers have shifted between T1 and T3 during 2026 phases. Screenshot the terminal from the airline app before you instruct a Grab driver.
T3 has the widest airside choice; T1/T2 are thinner and spike in price once you are airside.
Landside cafés exist, but a slow immigration / security bank can erase the meal window. Once airside, expect mall-style chains and sit-down spots that feel expensive versus Manila city prices. If you have Priority Pass in T1 or T3, use the lounge for a calmer snack rather than gambling on the last open gate café.
T1 currently stacks A Lounge, PAGSS Premium, and Marhaba on Priority Pass; T3’s main PP product is A Lounge on Level 4.
Open the Priority Pass app the day you fly — lounge contracts and hours move. PAGSS Premium lists a 3-hour cap and guest limits; both A Lounge locations list a 4-hour cap. PAL Mabuhay lounges and other airline rooms are not Priority Pass. OFW lounges are for eligible overseas workers with OEC / OFW documentation, not general passengers.
One of Terminal 1’s primary Priority Pass rooms. Priority Pass lists 05:00–23:00 hours, airside East Concourse beside Gate 2, digital cards accepted, and a 4-hour maximum stay (children under 3 free on current PP conditions). Expect standard PP buffet/soft-drink fare and capacity limits in evening departure banks — arrive early after immigration if your flight boards from the East Concourse.

Third Priority Pass option in Terminal 1, listed near Gate 9 with 07:00–00:00 hours and a 3-hour max stay (children under 2 free on current PP conditions). Priority Pass notes a quiet area and prayer room. Useful when East Concourse lounges by Gate 2 are saturated — walk time from Gate 2 to Gate 9 is real, so do not cut it fine before boarding.

Terminal 1’s 24-hour Priority Pass option beside Gate 2 on the East Concourse. Priority Pass lists a 3-hour maximum stay, typically up to two guests per cardholder (guest fees may apply), and children under 8 free on current conditions. Hot food and showers are commonly reported amenities — still treat it as a busy shared lounge, not a private suite. Confirm live access in the Priority Pass app; do not assume every Philippine credit card still works without checking.

PAL’s own Mabuhay Lounge product is airline-gated, not a Priority Pass substitute. International-heavy Mabuhay hospitality concentrates around Terminal 1; domestic Mabuhay rooms sit in Terminal 2. Exact door locations and elite thresholds change — follow PAL’s lounge page / app for your flight. Verdict is “depends” because access is narrow: excellent if you qualify, irrelevant if you do not.

Main Priority Pass product in Terminal 3. Priority Pass directions: take the lift in front of security to Level 4; lounge is on the left. Listed 24 hours with a 4-hour max stay (children under 3 free on current conditions). This is the default PP plan for Cebu Pacific / many foreign carrier departures from T3 — there is no useful airside hop to Terminal 1 lounges without exiting and re-clearing.
