One passenger terminal. Departures, domestic and international, use the level 2 lobby. Arrivals use level 1. Domestic gates are on level 3. Bus bays are outside on level 1.
The terminal building is open 6:00–22:30. The observation deck on level 3 is open 7:00–21:30. The earliest shops open at 6:30.
Baby-care rooms are in the level 2 domestic departure lobby, the international departure lobby, and the domestic gate lounge.
Travelex is in the level 1 international arrivals lobby, 8:00–16:30, for currencies of countries with a nonstop from Hiroshima. There is no transit-IC charge machine in the terminal.
The group waiting room Shimanami (72 people) is on level 2, and conference room A (60 people) is on level 1. Both are bookable 8:00–21:00.
HIAP says the commercial and duty-free renewal, and the international-function expansion, finish in March 2027. That is the same project that closed Maple.
Animals are not allowed in the terminal, except assistance dogs and pets accepted by an airline as cargo.
Runway 10/28 is 3,000 m by 60 m. ILS is on the runway 10 (west) approach. The airport's own CAT-III sheet puts the field at 330 m elevation.

From Ground Transport & Parking

Hiroshima Station Shinkansen gate: limousine, 45–50 minutes, adult ¥1,500, child ¥750. A 7-day round-trip ticket is ¥2,620 / ¥1,310 and is also valid to Hiroshima Bus Center.
Hiroshima Bus Center via Nakasuji: about 55 minutes, same ¥1,500 / ¥750 fare and the same round-trip ticket. Buses are unreserved; there is no advance booking.
Fukuyama Station limousine: about 65 minutes, adult ¥1,600, child ¥800 (Fukuyama-Hongo ¥1,300 / ¥650). The English timetable also prints a shared taxi at about 60 minutes and ¥4,500.
Saijo Station is the cheap local bus: about 25 minutes, adult ¥700, child ¥350. Shiraichi Station is the JR connection: the airport bus is 13–15 minutes and ¥490 for an adult (¥250 child), then JR.
Mihara Station is about 38 minutes and ¥1,000 / ¥500. Kure Station is about 58 minutes and ¥1,500 / ¥750. Takehara Port is about 30 minutes and ¥1,500 / ¥750.
Shared taxis need a booking: Miyajima-guchi about 60 minutes at ¥3,900–¥4,000, Itsukaichi Station north exit about 65 minutes at ¥2,400–¥2,500, book at least 30 minutes before the first stop leaves. Tadanoumi is printed as weekends and holidays only, about 30 minutes, ¥2,000.
Nationwide transit IC cards work on the limousine and local buses. They do not work on the Miyajima-guchi, Onomichi, Takehara, and Tadanoumi shared taxis. Kure's bus also excludes PiTaPa.
Three parking areas hold about 3,800 cars. The main lot is free for 30 minutes, then ¥200 an hour, capped at ¥1,200 per 24 hours on ordinary days and ¥1,600 on peak days (Friday through Sunday, holidays, and the long holiday periods). Parking 2 is ¥100 an hour after 30 free minutes, capped at ¥800 per 24 hours. Motorcycles are free. Vehicles taller than 2.4 m use Masahiro Parking, which runs a free shuttle 6:15–22:40. From Kochi IC the drive is about 10 minutes; from Hongo IC about 15 minutes.

YAMANAMI VILLA is the domestic lounge after security on level 3, 6:45–20:40, ¥1,760 including tax. One entry drink or snack is included (draft beer, wine, non-alcoholic beer, or a snack). Soft drinks, a sake tasting, newspapers, Wi-Fi, a copier, and private work booths are included, and there is an open terrace. Outside food is not allowed, seats cannot be reserved, and boarding calls are not announced inside.
Listed Japanese gold, platinum, and premium cards enter YAMANAMI VILLA free with a same-name boarding pass or ticket (a stub after arrival). American Express must be a card issued in Japan. Companion and child prices depend on the card issuer. Cash, credit cards, and barcode payments are accepted at the door. Priority Pass, LoungeKey, and DragonPass are not listed.
Maple, the international gate lounge on level 2, is temporarily closed through 28 February 2027. When it is open the published price is ¥1,980 (¥990 for ages 3–12, under 3 free). It is not a credit-card lounge. First and business class on China Airlines, Air China, China Eastern, and VietJet can enter free with a lounge ticket and boarding pass. Charter and extra flights may be excluded.
JAL Lounge and ANA Lounge are named on the airport page at the level 2 domestic departure lobby. That page does not print hours, a price, or who may enter, so treat airline status as something to confirm with the airline.
Royal Host is on level 3, 6:30–20:00. The drink corner in the level 2 international departure lounge sells coffee, sandwiches, and snacks that can be taken on board, and it opens around international departures. No drinking-fountain map and no bottled-water price are published.
The level 3 observation deck is free to enter during 7:00–21:30. Rental cars moved to RENT-A-CAR.Port Norinchai; the old counter inside domestic arrivals is gone.
Yamato airport takkyubin is available (080-5068-1123). Japan Post airport Yu-Pack is handled at a post office, not described as an in-terminal counter.

Domestic YAMANAMI VILLA, after security on level 3, is ¥1,760, or free with a listed Japanese gold or platinum card and a same-name boarding pass. It is not a Priority Pass, LoungeKey, or DragonPass lounge.
Free Wi-Fi is SSID Hiroshima Free Wi-Fi on levels 1 through 3. Each session lasts one hour, with no session cap, and the link is not encrypted.
There is no airport railway. The limousine to Hiroshima Station's Shinkansen gate is 45 to 50 minutes and ¥1,500 one way. The same round-trip ticket also works from Hiroshima Bus Center.
Domestic PSFC is ¥340 for an adult and ¥170 for a child on tickets issued from 7 January 2025. International departing PSSC is ¥400 for an adult or a child on tickets issued from 1 October 2024.
International liquids follow the Japan rule: containers of 100 ml or less, in one resealable clear bag of 1 litre or less. The airport FAQ states that rule for international departures.
Spring Japan's Narita flight on the 1 September–12 October 2026 sheet runs only on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, and only through 12 October 2026. Immigration for a Narita connection is at Narita, not here.
Fog is common at 330 m elevation. CAT-III autoland on the runway 10 approach needs a runway visual range of at least 100 m, plus a suitably equipped aircraft and crew. Runway 28 has no ILS.

Buy the round-trip if you are coming back

¥2,620 covers Hiroshima Station or the Bus Center for seven days.

Two one-way tickets are ¥3,000. The round-trip ticket is interchangeable between the Shinkansen gate and Hiroshima Bus Center. Buses are free seating and cannot be reserved. IC cards work, but the airport has no IC charge machine.

Upside

Saves ¥380 and you can return from either city stop.

Watch-out

The ride is still 45–55 minutes, and highway traffic can add more.

Fog hits the east approach harder

CAT-III is on runway 10 only.

The airport sits at about 330 m and says fog is common. Autoland needs a runway visual range of at least 100 m, CAT-III equipment, and a qualified crew. Landings from the east, on runway 28, are visual at the end and are more likely to divert.

Use Parking 2 if you are leaving the car

¥100 an hour and an ¥800 cap per 24 hours, every day.

The main lot jumps to ¥1,600 per 24 hours on Fridays, weekends, holidays, and the long holiday periods. The first 30 minutes are free in both lots. Cars taller than 2.4 m have to use Masahiro Parking.

Upside

Overnight parking is cheaper than many Japanese city airports.

Watch-out

You still need a car. There is no train at the door.
