Most important tips

Know before you go

A compact traveler cheat sheet for timing, terminals, food, and disruption checks.

Timing

Follow the airline pad, then Finavia's queue tool

Finnair asks 2 hours for short-haul and 3 hours for long-haul. Security itself takes 2–7 minutes after the queue.

Peak departing banks are roughly 06:00–08:00 and 14:00–18:00. Check Finavia's 12-hour predicted security queue before you leave.

Terminal

Stay on the correct side of passport control

Schengen and non-Schengen share one building but not one airside. Walk times are short; the border is the delay.

Domestic/Schengen use gates 5–36. Long-haul and European non-Schengen use 37–55. Many non-Schengen arrivals also re-clear transfer security.

Food

Refill first, then use the new Schengen food cluster

Free tap water is the value play. Recent openings include Fazer Café near gates 19–20 and Luigi's at gate 40.

Landside Food Hall in arrivals is open without a ticket. Airside dining is denser than the old guide implied, but refill before you buy a bottle.

Status

oneworld opens Finnair; PP/LK/DP open Aspire and Plaza

Finnair lounges are oneworld and Finnair Plus, not Star Alliance. Live Priority Pass, LoungeKey, and DragonPass list Aspire 13, Aspire 27, and Plaza Premium.

OP Lounge is an OP Gold/Platinum and paid-entry room, not a general Priority Pass or LoungeKey listing. Sauna is only in the non-Schengen Platinum Wing.
