Terminal 1 is the white tricorn Autoban hall: arrivals below, departures above, oak cocoons as cafés and seating. Official counts: 65,000 m², 12 boarding bridges, 15 gates, 40 check-in desks, 24 passport desks, 4 carousels. First flight 23 April 2014 Baku–SAW; all international moved here 1 December 2014.
Terminal 2 is the older circular hall (~60,000 m², 4 bridges, 8 gates, 48 desks, 10 passport desks). North entrance = international (including many LCCs); south entrance = domestic. Wikipedia leftover "T2 prioritises domestic" is half-true — do not skip T2 North.
There is no airside walk between T1 and T2. A connection that changes halls is a landside/security/passport loop. Same-ticket through-bags still need you in the right building for the onward desk.
T1 airside wayfinding still splits Gates 13–14 vs 15–16 on the escalator signs. Walking time from passport control to a far T1 gate is short (one hall) — the trap is the wrong terminal, not a 20-minute pier.
Do not invent a live Terminal 3, a metro station under the hall, or leftover "all international in T1" as of 2026. Live FIDS in 2026 still prints Terminal 1, T2 North and T2 South.

No metro and no airport rail. The H1 Aero Express is the public option: 06:00–23:15 every 20 minutes, then every 45 minutes overnight; official travel time ~30 minutes (15–30 on the same page). Stops at 28 May / central railway, Koroğlu, Surakhani bridge, Terminal 2, Terminal 1. Fare 1.30 AZN on a BakıKart, 1.50 AZN single-trip card; the card itself is 2 AZN. bakubus.az.
Official Baku Taxi (state TX4 / LEVC London cabs, red) at the Terminal 1 exit, 2nd line, plus a booth and call centre 1000. Kilometre bands are on the airport taxi page but the AZN figures were not published as readable numbers this pass — confirm at the booth, do not invent leftover 30–40 AZN.
