Most important tips

Know before you go

A compact traveler cheat sheet for timing, terminals, food, and disruption checks.

Status

Ercan is not a Republic of Cyprus entry point

The Republic of Cyprus foreign ministry says the legal airports are Larnaca and Paphos, and that an airport in the north is not one of them.

The notice dated 6 August 2024 says a traveler who enters that way is in breach of national legislation. It does not print a fine or a prison term.

Timing

The homepage clock is the winter offset

The English homepage prints GMT+2. On 23 September 2026, Ercan is on daylight time, UTC+3, until the clocks go back.

Timeanddate lists the 2026 fall-back for Ercan as 25 October, 04:00 to 03:00. Turkey stays on UTC+3 all year, so winter airport time is one hour behind Turkish cities.

Terminal

Use the 2023 building, not the old photos

The current terminal opened on 20 July 2023. Commons frames from 2013 and 2018 show the terminal it replaced.

The operator lists 60 check-in counters, 44 passport-control points, 9 jet bridges, and 5 baggage carousels in the current terminal.

Food

The food area is a floor size, not a menu

The operator publishes 3,832 m² of food and beverage space and says the terminal has restaurants and cafes. No restaurant name or bottle price was on the pages checked.
