T2 is a real international terminal with dense dining and card lounges, and Metro Line 3 finally beats the WEH — but the T1/T2 split, a late-2026 T1/NMI shuffle, and chronically full PP rooms keep BOM in plan-hard territory.
An editorial 0–10 score. The overall is exactly the weighted sum of six traveler categories — not a Google rating and not a poll.

An editorial 0–10 score. The overall is exactly the weighted sum of six traveler categories — not a Google rating and not a poll.
Most important tips
A compact traveler cheat sheet for timing, terminals, food, and disruption checks.
For weekday early departures, be through landside entry and security before 06:00 — contract lounges fill before the security queue peaks.
Weekday DEL/BLR/HYD banks pack T1 and T2 domestic from 06:00–09:00; Gulf/Europe banks crush T2 international from about 21:00 to midnight. Lounge seats vanish first.
Never assume IndiGo means T1. Read tonight's boarding pass, and check whether the ticket says BOM or NMI.
Official CSMIA table (checked 2 Oct 2026): Alliance Air and Star Air T1; Air India and Air India Express T2; IndiGo, SpiceJet and Akasa T1/T2. MIAL has also told T1 carriers they may move or suspend from 25 Oct 2026.
If Priority Pass or a card programme already paid for the buffet, eat there. Otherwise use landside Mani's at T2 rather than guessing airside bottle prices.
T2 airside has McDonald's next to Adani Lounge East (Priority Pass) and a deep QSR spine. Mani's Café lists a T2 outlet on its own locator — useful before security if you do not already have lounge access.
Build slack for the monsoon and for October 2026 terminal/airport moves — same-day rebooking queues get long fast.
CSMIA is the world's busiest single-runway airport (~1,000 ATMs/day on the official about page). June–September WEH flooding and any T1-to-T2/NMI shift both stretch recovery when a bank piles up.

Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport and the Mumbai city center
4 ways into the city, compared on time, cost, and luggage.
11 lounges with access rules, hours, and verdicts. 4 rated worth it.
Wrong terminal is the classic BOM fail. The coach is free, but a T1↔T2 move is a full landside transfer plus re-security — never lounge-hop across terminals with a short connection.
6 rated amenities — food, Wi-Fi, quiet spots, family, and sleep.
Where to refill for free, and where a bottle costs the least airside.

Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport and the Mumbai city center
Compare prepaid private transfers to Mumbai — useful overnight, with luggage, or when you want a locked-in fare before you land.
Driverless underground line with dedicated CSMIA T1 and T2 stations — the fixed-price escape from Mumbai traffic.
Tip: Use the T2 footbridge (~100–118 m). Official last train from Cuffe Parade is 22:30 — do not plan metro after that without checking the board.
App cabs from marked T2 multi-level car parks and T1 arrival zones — default door-to-door with luggage.
Tip: Official page: Uber Black/XL at P6 Level-2 Arrival west; other app/fleet pick-ups at Level-1 P4 and P7 West. Match the pin.
Official counters for metered and prepaid fleet taxis when apps surge or phones fail.
Tip: Compare the prepaid board to the live app quote before paying.
Official routes: 312 at T1; 308 and 321 at T2 toward suburban rail.
Tip: Fine for light bags and locals; skip with international luggage.
The serious T1 Priority Pass room — mezzanine near Gate 9. Operator says 24 hours; PP lists 12:00–00:00. Confirm live hours and that the flight is still T1.

Add a photoOfficial T1C lounge opposite Gate 22. Live Priority Pass still lists it. Only useful while your ticket is T1.

Add a photoThe default international Priority Pass room at T2 — next to McDonald's on Level 4. Useful when included; the 2-hour cap and evening banks are the limits.

Add a photoOfficial T2 domestic Loyalty lounge on Level 3. Not on the live Priority Pass airport list — do not walk here on PP alone.

Add a photoLive Priority Pass BOM26 overflow on Level 4 next to Superdry, 12:00–23:59. Not named on the airport's public lounge list — trust the PP app.

Add a photoAirline lounge, not Priority Pass. Prefer it over the crowded contract floors when you actually qualify. Confirm the room — T2's lounge map moved under Adani.

Add a photoOfficial T2 domestic Amex lounge on Level 3 opposite Burger King, 24 hours. Not a Priority Pass room.

Add a photoSmaller landside sister at Gate C after customs. Better for quiet than food theatre. Trust Priority Pass hours (12:00–00:00) over the 24-hour operator line if you are on PP.

Add a photoLandside T2 arrivals lounge at Gate A with sleeping pods. The useful post-customs Priority Pass stop — not an airside departures room.

Add a photoBest everyday Priority Pass pick at BOM when you are on a T2 domestic departure — opposite Gate 44, 24 hours, 3-hour cap, 4.0 on Priority Pass.

Add a photoInternational Level 4 cluster next to Adani Lounge East / McDonald's plus a deep QSR spine. Quantity beats inspiration. Mani's Café lists a T2 outlet on its own locator.
Live PP/DragonPass rooms: Adani East, Travel Club T2, Aviserv East/West, Adani T1B, Travel Club T1, Adani Silver. Plaza Premium and Encalm are not on the live lists.
Official OTP-on-SMS network. Kiosks issue a password against a passport or Indian ID if you lack roaming — landmarks at T2 Gates 42, 50, 48, 67 and 74.
Dedicated Aqua Line stops at T1 and T2. Official first train 05:55 from Aarey JVLR; last 22:30 from Cuffe Parade. T2 footbridge is about 100–118 m.
Full T2 duty-free for international departures plus extensive landside/airside retail.
Paid escort/porter service through CSMIA — useful for elderly travellers or a tight T1↔T2 move.
Confirm T1 vs T2 and BOM vs NMI on the airline app the evening before.
Official table still splits IndiGo/SpiceJet/Akasa across T1/T2. MIAL has told T1 airlines they may move to T2 or NMI or suspend from 25 Oct 2026. If you land wrong, use the free coach from T2 Level-1 P4 or T1 arrival exit; do not start security in the wrong building.
Free coach exists if you get it wrong.
A terminal change is a full re-entry plus re-security.
Use Metro Line 3 for most daytime city trips; switch to an official-zone app cab after last trains or with heavy luggage.
MMRC first train 05:55 from Aarey JVLR; last 22:30 from Cuffe Parade. T2 FOB is about 100–118 m. Fares are distance-based — buy at the machine. Night arrivals should pre-book a car.
Predictable time versus WEH gridlock.
Last train is too early for many long-haul arrivals.
At T2, target Travel Club or Adani Lounge East and verify live access in the app.
Travel Club (T2 Gate 44, 3-hour cap) and Adani Lounge East (McDonald's, Gates 45–46, 2-hour cap) are the live workhorses. Adani Silver (Superdry, 12:00–23:59) is overflow. Aviserv East/West are landside arrivals, not airside departures. Some Indian issuers now want the credit card itself at domestic rooms.
Arrivals Aviserv lounges are a genuine BOM weapon after customs.
Plaza Premium / Encalm names are stale. Domestic PP may need the card, not the pass.
Link Aadhaar, selfie and boarding pass before you reach CSMIA for a supported T2 domestic departure.
Official CSMIA page: departing domestic T2 only; day-of kiosks at Gate 2; Digi Buddies in jackets if the face pod fails. Not arrivals. Not promised for every carrier.
Cuts document-flash time when the airline is supported.
Coverage is not universal — keep physical ID out.
Eat on a lounge swipe when you have one; otherwise use landside Mani's at T2.
If you already have lounge access, eat there. Mani's Café lists a T2 outlet on its own locator. CSMIA does not publish bottle-refill locations or café water tariffs — follow airside signage and read the shelf label.
Jain/veg coverage is generally solid in the contract lounges.
Peak lounge meal queues can erase the time save.
Airside T2 after security, along the Level 3 domestic / Level 4 international concourses (no official station list)
CSMIA does not publish a bottle-refill map. Travelers still report dedicated stations after T2 security — follow terminal signage rather than a promised landmark.
Airside washroom blocks near official Wi-Fi kiosks at T2 Gates 42 and 50 (Level 3) and Gates 48, 67 and 74 (Level 4)
Usual backup when a dedicated refill point is not obvious. Use washroom blocks next to the airport's own Wi-Fi kiosk landmarks.
Airside T2 Level 4 food-court cluster next to McDonald's and the Adani Lounge East entrance (Gates 45–46)
No honest published bottle tariff. Buy a sealed bottle only if you cannot reach a refill point; do not plan around a remembered rupee figure.
Landside T2 Level-1 ground-transportation hall (P4) and the meeter-greeter area before security entry
Buy only what you will finish before screening. Liquids over 100 ml are removed at security.
