Most important tips

Know before you go

A compact traveler cheat sheet for timing, terminals, food, and disruption checks.

Timing

90 minutes is often enough for Schengen; add a passport-control buffer for non-Schengen

Morning banks (06:00–09:00) and Sunday evenings are the reliably busy windows.

Security is rarely the long pole. Leisure-carrier check-in and non-Schengen passport control are the delays that actually bite.

Layout

One terminal, then a Schengen / non-Schengen split

Confirm the pier on the boarding pass before you sit down after security.

Primeclass sits on the Schengen side opposite Gate 23, before passport control. A non-Schengen flight still uses that lounge — then you walk through the border, not the other way around.

Food

Eat landside if you want a real bakery

Airside is café / sandwich fare; the better bakers are in the public hall.

The lounge buffet is snacks and drinks, not a Zagreb lunch. For a proper meal, eat in the city or landside before you clear security.

Status

Priority Pass does not admit children at Primeclass

Live PP conditions also limit the room to international flights and list paid Wi-Fi.

Airport walk-up is €45 with unlimited stay that day. Dragon Pass, Diners Club, TAV and contracted airline business-class still apply when the airport page lists them.

Honest verdict

Who this airport works for

Best for

Short Schengen connections and Croatia Airlines hops
Travelers who want a simple, walkable terminal without multi-building chaos
Quick city access by bus or taxi when not stuck in rush hour

Watch out for

Settling airside before confirming Schengen vs non-Schengen pier — backtracking is annoying
Generic, pricier airside food; better bakeries and sit-down options are landside
Morning (06:00–09:00) and Sunday evening leisure banks for check-in and security queues
No passenger rail link yet — bus or taxi are the practical defaults
