Domestic often works with ~90–120 minutes; U.S. preclearance and long-haul international need more on morning Europe and afternoon U.S. banks.
CATSA can look short while U.S. CBP or international outbound passport control is the real constraint. Flight Plan construction and seasonal peaks stretch curb-to-gate time—do not copy a pure-domestic buffer onto a New York or Paris departure.
After security you are locked into one zone. Wrong stream means exiting and re-clearing with fresh time risk.
Follow overhead Domestic / United States / International signs from check-in. Gate numbers alone are not enough—U.S. gates sit after CBP; international gates sit after Canada Border Services outbound processing.
Airside options are decent once you are through the correct stream; landside is mostly a pass-through.
U.S. post-CBP dining is thinner than domestic/international. If you need a real meal before a U.S. departure, eat before preclearance or accept grab-and-go after.
Priority Pass covers Aspire (domestic + international), National Bank (international), Air France/KLM (international, AF/KLM priority), and Desjardins Plaza Premium on the U.S. side—not Maple Leaf Lounges.
