A compact two-level desert X with real local food and a fare-free bus — undone by two disconnected TSA portals, no passenger lounge, and a storm-closed economy-covered lot.
An editorial 0–10 score. The overall is exactly the weighted sum of six traveler categories — not a Google rating and not a poll.

Most important tips
A compact traveler cheat sheet for timing, terminals, food, and disruption checks.
Official A/B TSA portals generally open by 04:00 and close with the last departure. TAA says 90 minutes is usually enough; 2 hours for 06:00–08:00 weekday departures and holidays.
Official waits are usually under 15 minutes except before 08:00 and mid-day. Arizona does not observe DST, so the mid-day crush shifts: 10:30–14:00 when the rest of the U.S. is on DST, 11:30–15:00 from November to early March. REAL ID has been required since 7 May 2025.
B is first on the inbound roadway (Alaska, American, Delta). A is east (Southwest, Sun Country, United). You cannot walk between A and B without reclearing.
Approaching the curb you hit B, then A. Official passenger-services still lists Frontier on A; the live airlines page does not. The C-gate checkpoint opens only when that building is scheduled. Sterile-side overnighting is not allowed.
Official B-gate pins: El Charro Café 05:00–last departure, Beyond Bread 04:30–17:30, BUILT Custom Burgers 10:00–18:00. Landside Barrio Brewing (ticketing) is 07:00–17:00.
A-side official pins: Dunkin’ near A1 04:00–15:00, Empire Pizza 10:30–18:00. Arroyo Trading Post on ticketing is 04:15–19:00 with coffee and sandwiches. Bag-claim food is vending machines only. Trust flytucson.com/in_the_terminal/restaurants_shopping.php, not a 2017 vendor blog.
There is no Admirals Club, Sky Club, United Club, or airside Priority Pass lounge. Live PP is Barrio Brewing Co. before security — not a lounge.
Priority Pass (11 Sep 2026): landside 2nd floor opposite Arroyo Trading Post, Mon–Fri 10:00–15:00, $28 credit, same-day boarding pass, no payment-card entry. Official Barrio hours are 07:00–17:00 daily — the PP window is narrower. TravelMint “airside Gate B7” copy is wrong. The Military Lounge near carousel 4/5 is active-duty (dedicated page still says retired too) and not for civilians.

Tip: Wait in the free Airport Drive cell-phone lot until they text. Taxis are the second island, not this one. Cars do not sit on the curb.

Fare-free city buses on the first island to your right after bag claim. 11 via Alvernon, 25 via Park to downtown.
Tip: suntran.com still says all rides are free. Ignore the airport FAQ’s $1.75 block. Southbound must say Airport — some 11s and Saturday 25s stop at Laos. 520-792-9222 or the Transit app for tonight’s clock.
Walking lots plus Corona Road economy with a 15–20 min 24/7 shuttle. Economy Covered closed 19 Aug 2026.
Tip: Terminal 7250 S Tucson Blvd; economy 2650 E Corona Road. Optional reservation $2. Ace Parking 520-573-4710. FAQ Hourly $1/30 min / $13 day may be stale after the Oct 2025 increase — quote parking.flytucson.com. Cell lot is free if you stay with the car.
Not a lounge — a landside brewpub with a $28 Priority Pass credit on weekdays 10:00–15:00. Useful before you pick a checkpoint; useless once you are airside.

Add a photoOne two-level main terminal. Ticketing and TSA upstairs, bags downstairs. A (east) and B (west) are not connected after security. Official airlines 11 Sep 2026: WN/SY/UA on A, AS/AA/DL on B. C is a separate west building with no live scheduled carrier.

Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, and Sixt are on the official RCC page just east of the terminal; Alamo and Economy Rent a Car are off-site shuttles. Sun Tran 11 and 25 are fare-free on the first island. Economy Covered is closed.
Not a lounge. Live Priority Pass is a $28 landside tab at Barrio on ticketing, opposite Arroyo, Mon–Fri 10:00–15:00. No airline club. TAA does not recognize CLEAR. Military Lounge in bag claim is not for civilians.
Mamava: A near A3, B next to El Charro (app or 520-573-8182). Outdoor pet-relief at bag-claim exits 1 and 7; airside pads just after each checkpoint. Ticketing and B-side ATMs offer pesos. No staffed currency desk.
Official A/B TSA generally opens by 4:00 a.m. PreCheck is on A and B, not C. TAA does not have or recognize CLEAR.
Arrive 90 minutes out, 2 hours for 06:00–08:00 weekdays and holidays. Waits usually under 15 minutes except before 08:00 and mid-day. Arizona skips DST, so the mid-day crush is 10:30–14:00 in summer and 11:30–15:00 in winter. REAL ID since 7 May 2025. Wrong portal means reclear.
A compact terminal with usually short lines when you pick the right door.
There is no airside walkway between A and B, and CLEAR will not help.
Inbound roadway hits B (Alaska, American, Delta) then A (Southwest, Sun Country, United).
Official airlines page 11 Sep 2026 lists six carriers and omits Frontier. TSA/passenger-services pages that still put Frontier on A are stale. C is a separate west building used only when it is scheduled. Sterile-side overnighting is not allowed.
Once you are on the correct concourse the walk is short and the food is actually local.
Following the first TSA sign is how Southwest passengers end up reclearing.
Sun Tran 11 and 25 are free. Most counters are in the east-side Rental Car Center. Economy Covered closed 19 Aug 2026.
Taxi: $7 + $3/mile, $20 minimum, second island. Uber/Lyft: first island. Cell lot: last right on Airport Drive, stay with the car. Alamo and Economy Rent a Car are off-site shuttles. FAQ $1.75 bus fares and “Alamo in the RCC” are stale. FAQ Hourly $13/day may be stale after the Oct 2025 rate increase — quote parking.flytucson.com.
A genuine fare-free airport bus and a walk-to RCC are rare at this size.
Economy Covered is closed until further notice; confirm tonight’s lot board.
Live Priority Pass is landside Barrio Brewing, Mon–Fri 10:00–15:00, $28 credit. No airline club.
Official PP pin: 2nd floor opposite Arroyo Trading Post, same-day boarding pass, tip not included. Official Barrio kitchen hours are 07:00–17:00 daily — the PP window is narrower. TravelMint “airside Gate B7” is wrong. Military Lounge near carousel 4/5 is not a passenger lounge.
A real Tucson beer before you pick a checkpoint, if your card still has visits.
Useless once you are airside, and closed to PP on evenings and weekends.
Official B pins: El Charro 05:00–last departure and Beyond Bread 04:30–17:30. Landside Barrio 07:00–17:00.
A-side official pins: Dunkin’ near A1 04:00–15:00 and Empire Pizza 10:30–18:00. Arroyo Trading Post on ticketing is 04:15–19:00. Bag-claim food is vending. Trust flytucson.com/in_the_terminal/restaurants_shopping.php.

The only official bottle-filler map. Empty at the checkpoint and fill on your concourse. There is no published landside filler.
