Arrive at least 2.5 h before departure; allow extra time for border control on non-Schengen flights.

The airport recommends arriving at least 2 hours 30 minutes before your scheduled flight time. Only passengers with a valid boarding pass can enter the security area. Non-Schengen passengers (T1) also pass border control, and non-EU short-stay visitors are now registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES).

Check your terminal: Schengen flights use T2, non-Schengen flights use T1.

Schengen departures (most Wizz Air routes in the EU, Munich, Bucharest) leave from T2, the terminal opened in March 2024. Non-Schengen departures such as London Luton, Istanbul and Larnaca leave from T1. The departures board on the airport website shows the terminal for each flight.

Small selection: snack bars landside, coffee and snacks after security.

Bars and snack bars are in the public area, and you can also get coffee or a snack in the departure and transit areas. Newsstands sell papers and magazines, and duty-paid shops in the departure area sell souvenirs, perfume and jewellery. The choice is small, so eat before you arrive if you want a proper meal.

No flights 2–22 Nov 2026; Wizz Air moves to Arad. Animawings suspended until 15 Nov.

The runway is closed completely from 2 November 2026 at 08:00 to 22 November 2026 at 21:00 (local time) for repairs. Wizz Air operates its Timișoara flights from Arad airport during that period, with exceptions on 2 and 22 November. Animawings has suspended all its flights until 15 November 2026. Check with your airline before you travel.
