Compact TAV single-terminal gateway where Wizz Air banks set the pace: easy to learn once airside, slowed by non-Schengen passport control and a bus-or-taxi ground story with no rail.
Editorial 0–10 from comfort, navigation, food, transport, and disruption resilience — not a Google rating.

Most important tips
A compact traveler cheat sheet for timing, terminals, food, and disruption checks.
Non-Schengen passport control sits after security — treat morning Wizz banks like a mini-hub rush, not a sleepy regional field.
Check-in counters open 120 minutes before STD and close 40 minutes before STD (airport published rule). Security still runs classic ≤100 ml liquids in a 1 L bag plus electronics out. After X-ray you hit passport control into the airside hall — early Wizz waves can stack both queues. Aim to be landside two hours before a busy low-cost departure; 90 minutes can work off-peak with mobile boarding and cabin bags only.
Compact single building; once past passport control everything important is a few minutes’ walk.
Landside check-in and bag drop feed a single security filter, then passport control into one airside concourse (gates around 201–204+). Primeclass sits between Gates 203 and 204 next to duty free, opposite the X-ray control area. The smoking room is signed near Gate 201. Walk times are short once you are airside — the time sink is the landside queue, not the pier.
Café-scale terminal food; Primeclass is the upgrade if you have access.
Landside and airside cover Cakes & Bakes / Café In-style cafés, Burger King, NeedStop-type convenience, and ATU duty free (including Macedonian wine). It is enough for a snack, not a destination meal. Priority Pass holders usually do better in Primeclass (hot dish + cold buffet) than at the gate cafés. Fill or buy water landside — travellers consistently report no free refill fountains airside, with small bottles often around ~125 MKD.
Fixed-tariff white taxis or the 199 MKD shuttle — skip anyone who approaches you inside arrivals.
TAV-authorised airport taxis are white cars with roof signs numbered 1–65 at the terminal exit; fares follow the posted February 2024 tariff board (also displayed in the car). Confirm the destination price against the board before you load. For the budget ride, ErakTransporter’s shuttle is 199 MKD one-way with a timetable keyed to flights — buy at the airport desk (08:00–20:00), on the bus overnight, or at Skopje Central Bus Station. Official FAQ text still mentions V2V Transporter; follow the live ErakTransporter link the airport bus page points to.
