Terminal navigation guide

Terminal-change and gate-area notes pulled from the markdown guide.

From Terminals & Navigation

One building. Level 2: ticketing, Savannah Square (pre-security shops and food), the single TSA checkpoint, then a straight concourse. Level 1: baggage claim, rental counters, Visitor Information Center (official 08:30–23:00), taxis, rideshare north door, CAT stop.
After security you walk one pier. Official shops/dining pins still use Gates 3–15. Passport Club, nursing mother’s room, and Hilton Head Marketplace cluster between Gates 10 and 12. Far-end vending is between Gates 14 and 15. You can walk the whole pier without reclearing.
The four-gate easterly expansion (“Fly. Shop. Relax. Taste. Grow. – Summer 2026”) is still on the active-projects list. August 5 2026 commission agenda included Change Order No. 7 with Iugis Construction for that project. Do not assume Gates 16–19 exist for tonight’s walk.
Nursing mother’s room: official pin is 2nd Level post-security between Gates 10 and 12, first-come. Outdoor animal-relief pads sit at the north and south ends of baggage claim (bags in a box). Official FAQ: dogs stay in carriers unless they are using a relief area or are a service dog.
Savannah Salutes welcomes service members with snacks on Level 2 pre-security. Shops copy also mentions a USO hallway next to the Navy Federal ATM. Neither is a general-admission lounge; do not send civilians there looking for a day pass.
Visitor Information Center in bag claim: official 08:30–23:00. Custom maps, the region’s brochure rack, lottery and postal center. Official distance copy: about 20 minutes to Historic Savannah, 45 minutes to Hilton Head Island, 45 minutes to Parris Island, under 2 hours to the Golden Isles and Charleston.
ATMs: Carver State Bank in bag claim; Navy Federal Credit Union Level 2 pre-security by the USO hallway; South State Bank post-security; Truist in two locations. Cash-to-card kiosk on Level 2 near ticketing. Mr. Willie’s shoe shine and Piera’s Salon are on the official map (salon is pre-security).
No luggage storage (official FAQ). Free luggage carts in bag claim and the parking deck. Smoking only where posted outdoors.

Ground transport guide

City-transfer, rideshare, train, and parking guidance from the markdown guide.

From Ground Transport & Parking

Official visitor-center copy: about 20 minutes to Historic Savannah by car, 45 minutes to Hilton Head. AirNav puts the field 7 miles NW of downtown. I-95 Exit 104.
Uber and Lyft: north entrance of baggage claim, Level 1. Official ground-transportation page names those two apps.
Taxis: lower level outside bag claim, late-night arrivals included. Official maximum meter (city ordinance, mileage CPI-adjusted each 1 Mar): $3.23 first 1/6 mile, then $0.54 per 1/6, not to exceed $6.47 for the first mile and $2.69 per mile after. Extra passenger $1. Wait $25/hour ($0.42/min in traffic). Fuel surcharge $1 at $3.50/gal AAA, $2 at $4.00. Drivers may discount to match rideshare. There is no published downtown flat — ask before the trunk closes. Stand phone list is on the official ground-transportation page; Yellow Cab 912-236-1133 is the legacy name on that list.
CAT Route 3 West Chatham / Sav HHI Airport is the live public bus, not 100X. CAT’s own FAQ and August 2026 schedule page: this is regular fixed-route service to the Joe Murray Rivers Jr. Intermodal Transit Center, not a direct airport shuttle. $1.50 exact change; $3 day pass (tell the operator before you pay); Token Transit; half-fare $0.75. Weekday service was thinned on 31 Aug 2026 (one bus all day, tripper 06:00–10:00 and 14:00–18:00). Weekend unchanged. Downtown DOT shuttle and Savannah Belles Ferry are free once you are already downtown — they do not serve the airport.
Official parking (11 Sep 2026), first-come, pay at the exit plaza:
Cell-phone lot: free, Aggett Drive, stay with the car.
Valet: $35/day. Drop-off 04:30 on Level 2; pickup through last scheduled arrival on Level 1. FAQ also writes 04:30–00:30 for both. Someone else can collect with a photo of the ticket plus their license.
Terminal garage: $2/hour, $18/day. Four levels, 1,680 spaces, 150 ft from the terminal, 7 ft clearance, Signal Park counts, five PEP EV stalls on the lower level.
