Compact campus, real summer peaks — pad check-in and security when LOT and leisure banks overlap.

Official 2025 traffic set a new record at 1,282,628 passengers and 19,917 aircraft operations, with summer leisure and charter peaks (Türkiye, Egypt, Greek islands) on top of year-round LOT Warsaw shuttles and Ryanair UK/Ireland/Spain/Italy links. Through June 2026 the passenger table already shows 516,325 year-to-date. The single terminal walks quickly, but check-in and classic 100 ml security still compress when morning LOT waves and leisure departures stack — arrive earlier than the building size suggests on peak Saturdays.

Single Ulma Family terminal — easy to walk; the failure mode is the wrong Schengen/non-Schengen hold after the shops.

Landside: check-in / bag drop, arrivals reclaim, car rental, ticket machines, parking links. Airside: security into Baltona retail and Cavarious cafés, then Schengen vs non-Schengen holds. Business Lounge by Baltona sits in Schengen departures near Gate 4 on the right after security/passport control (Priority Pass directions). Non-Schengen passengers (e.g. UK / US LOT Newark seasons) must not assume the lounge is on their sterile path — confirm the live gate area. Meeting point: landside arrivals after reclaim.

Cavarious covers coffee and light plates airside — not a food hall; eat in town when you have time.

Baltona operates Cavarious cafés in both departure zones after security (coffee, sandwiches, salads, sweet snacks, gluten-free/veg options on Baltona’s Rzeszów page) plus Baltona Duty Free / Multistore travel retail. Landside food is thinner — plan a real meal in Rzeszów if you have a long gap. Business Lounge by Baltona adds a snack/drink buffet for eligible guests while open.

Ops flexibility is runway-led; your clock risk is weather plus the single terminal peak.

The 3,200 m runway and CAT II approach on 27 give RZE more heavy-aircraft and low-visibility capability than most Polish regionals, which is why freighter and diversion traffic appears in airport news. Passengers still face a single terminal and one main strip: winter fog/low cloud on the Jasionka plateau, convective summer weather, and stacked leisure banks are the everyday disruption modes.
