Rabat–Salé is Morocco’s capital gateway that handled 2.17 million passengers in 2025: compact Terminal 1, two Pearl lounges with Priority Pass, fixed grand-taxi fares, and a finished but still-closed new terminal that leaves peak low-cost banks crowded.
An editorial 0–10 score. The overall is exactly the weighted sum of six traveler categories — not a Google rating and not a poll.

Most important tips
A compact traveler cheat sheet for timing, terminals, food, and disruption checks.
Arrive ~90 minutes early on Ryanair/Air Arabia peak evenings.
Terminal 1 is handling well over its old design comfort zone while the new building waits to open. Online check-in plus early bag drop helps on Sunday evenings and school-holiday peaks. Low-cost carriers dominate the schedule, so banks can stack.
Flights still use Terminal 1; the new terminal awaits inauguration.
Press and local guides reported the ~69,000 m² expansion complete but closed as of mid-August 2026. Follow live wayfinding in the 2012 Terminal 1 (23 check-in desks, six gates). Do not assume jet-bridge boarding from the unfinished facility.
Limited cafés — Pearl Lounge is the best sit-down if you have access.
Expect café/bar service on both sides of security and a duty-free shop in the departure lounge. Choice is limited compared with Casablanca or Marrakech, so the Pearl Lounge buffet is the more reliable sit-down option if you have Priority Pass or a day pass.
Open and growing; expect Terminal 1 congestion at peaks.
ONDA logged 2.17 million passengers in 2025 while the expansion that should lift capacity toward ~5 million stays shut. The airport itself is open for domestic and international flights; the main operational caveat is peak congestion in Terminal 1, not a closure.

Compare prepaid private transfers to Rabat — useful overnight, with luggage, or when you want a locked-in fare before you land.
Official grand-taxi station at the exit; posted ONDA fares to Rabat centre and Salé. About 10 km / 15–25 min to central Rabat (estimate).
Tip: Check the fare board in the public hall before you leave the building; evening rates usually apply after dark.
Airport buses toward Rabat Ville and Agdal; fare commonly quoted at 25 MAD. ONDA announced a reinforced every-15-minute service with card payment around major events — confirm the kiosk board on the day.
Tip: Look for the transport kiosk in the public hall; older hourly ALSA-style schedules may no longer apply.
ONDA parking tariffs (public page): outdoor cars from 6 MAD for the first hour, rising through the day; covered spaces start near 48 MAD for the first hour. Contact 00 212 6 79 82 24 32.
Tip: Short drop-offs are cheapest outdoors; confirm the live machine tariff — the public page snippet was incomplete beyond early hours.
App-based cars and private shuttles serve the terminal; no single official app fare is published by ONDA.
Tip: If an app is unavailable at the curb, fall back to the posted grand-taxi board rather than an unmetered offer.
Arrivals-only Pearl Lounge just after passport control: snacks, Wi-Fi and showers for Priority Pass guests (typically 05:00–23:00, max 3 hours).

Terminal 1 is past its old design capacity until the new building opens.
