From Best Airport Tricks & Hacks

On arrival, walk ~40 m to PisaMover — skip taxis unless you have heavy bags, a post-midnight arrival, or a destination off the Centrale/Duomo fixed-fare list.
Buy / scan the €6.50 PisaMover ticket before the gates; contactless Tap & Go may be available at turnstiles depending on current station fit-out — machines remain the reliable fallback.
If you hold Priority Pass, clear security (and passport control when required) then head upstairs to Galilei VIP — there is no useful landside public lounge (Courtesy Lounge is PRM / special-needs only).
For Florence same-day, either PisaMover → Regionale to Firenze SMN (~50–80′) or Sky Bus Caronna direct (~60′ to Guidoni daytime + T2 tram).
Power / charging points exist around the terminal (Service Guide); claim a seat early on busy LCC banks — gate seating fills fast.
Do not confuse PSA with FLR (Florence Peretola): short-runway full-service city hop is Florence; Ryanair-heavy and longer-haul European LCC itineraries almost always mean Pisa.

TransportTraveler Tips & Hacks

Default to PisaMover

€6.50 and ~5 minutes beats taxi unless bags or midnight timing force it.

Walk to the signed people-mover, buy/scan the occasional ticket, ride to Pisa Centrale for Trenitalia connections across Tuscany. After midnight use CO.TA.PI. fixed fares (€10.80 Centrale / €14.50 Duomo).

Pro

Fastest reliable link to the national rail network

Watch-out

Service window ends 24:00 (01:00 in summer) — no overnight Mover

02

SecurityTraveler Tips & Hacks

Pack for classic 100 ml rules

No published CT liquids waiver — empty bottles, then refill airside; consider €12 Priority Lane on peak banks.

Carta 2025 measured 11′01″ waits in 90% of 2024 security samples. Buy Priority Lane at Customer Service or use airline contract access. Aim ~2.5 hours before departure.

Pro

Measured waits often manageable off-peak

Watch-out

Ryanair departure banks still stack the hall hard

03

LoungeTraveler Tips & Hacks

Clear security before counting on Galilei VIP

Only airside lounge on PP; confirm live hours for sub-05:00 / late banks.

Priority Pass lists 05:00–22:00 and may close 40 minutes before the last departure. Day-pass resellers often quote ~€25–€35 with a 3-hour cap — treat desk price as live.

Pro

Real calm zone after security with standard bar

Watch-out

Capacity limits and early-close rules can refuse entry

NavigationTraveler Tips & Hacks

Know gates 1–11 vs 21–25

Schengen mostly ground-floor 1–11; upper 21–25 cover non-Schengen and some Schengen — still a short walk.

Most boarding is bus or walk-boarding; jet-bridge use is limited. Rent-a-car is a separate terminal (~5′ walk or shuttle), not inside the passenger hall.

Pro

Single compact terminal is easy to learn

Watch-out

Bus gates add time in rain / peak banks
