Ride T2 toward San Marco–Università and alight at Alamanni–Stazione S.M.N. for the main station / western centre (~20 minutes per GEST / Carta). Urbano capoluogo single is €2.00 with 90 minutes’ validity from validation (GEST / Autolinee Toscane from 1 August 2026; SMS ticket €2.40). Buy at stop machines, the at-bus app, authorised retailers, or tap contactless readers on board. One cabin bag ≤10 kg and ≤55×40×20 cm rides free; larger bags need an extra ticket (max two per person, ≤80×45×25 cm / 20 kg). Service roughly 05:00–00:30 (until ~02:00 Fri/Sat nights) — confirm last trams on gestramvia.it for your date. Fixed-fare white taxis to centre / main hotels are €28 daytime weekdays, €30 holiday daytime, €32 night (22:00–06:00), plus €3 airport departure supplement and bag/extra-passenger add-ons (Carta 2025).

Florence still runs classic EU LAG rules: liquids in ≤100 ml containers inside a clear 1-litre bag; empty refill bottles before screening. The Carta dei Servizi 2025 measured 8′09″ wait in 90% of security samples (2024) with a 6′30″ 2025 target — peaks still swell when several narrowbodies bank together. A Priority Lane exists for contracted airline passengers and can be purchased at the Alisud ticket office (landside, 1F, typically 04:30–20:00) — Toscana Aeroporti does not publish a fixed walk-up price on the Carta, so ask Alisud rather than assuming a Fast Track kiosk. Present ~2 hours before departure (Carta guidance); the terminal itself opens at 04:00. Masterplan / new-runway works are long-term — do not expect jet bridges or a longer runway on a 2026 itinerary.

VIP Club Lounge (still often called Sala Masaccio) sits airside on the first floor after security and duty free. Official hours 05:00–21:00 daily (Priority Pass matches). Access: airline-enabled boarding passes, Priority Pass, LoungeKey, Dragon Pass, Diners, Lounge Club / Lounge Pass / GIS, plus day entry sold at Alisud and the airside Giunti bookstore. Carta notes a 2024 expansion with more seats; self-service soft drinks / standard alcohol, Wi-Fi and SKY TV. Capacity controls apply — PP explicitly warns space may block entry. Children under 4 free on Priority Pass. Third-party day-pass sellers often quote roughly €30–€40; treat desk / Giunti as the live price. No second lounge and no reliable landside club — once you clear security this is the only paid calm zone.

Toscana Aeroporti promotes Assaeroporti’s Refill & Fly programme with free drinking-water refill points landside and airside — follow terminal signage; traveler reports commonly cite a fountain before security and another airside near Gate 3. Empty bottles before classic 100 ml screening, then refill. Free Wi-Fi SSID Airport-Free-Wifi covers the passenger terminal for 12 hours per Carta dei Servizi 2025. Bottled water remains available from Hudson / cafés / Giunti if refill queues form. There is no left-luggage office in the terminal (Carta) — use city storage near Santa Maria Novella if you need a bag dump mid-layover.
