On-site rail via covered walk; ~40–45 min to Glasgow Central; no station ticket office; half-price flyer deal ended 1 Apr 2025.

Prestwick International Airport station sits on the Glasgow Central–Ayr line with a short covered walkway into the terminal (airport To & From). Airport copy: about two trains an hour each way; Glasgow Central about 40 minutes; Ayr about 10 minutes; roughly 06:00–00:15 weekdays and 09:00–23:00 Sundays. ScotRail’s airports page quotes about 45 minutes to Glasgow Central. There is no ticket office or TVM at the airport station — buy online in advance or from the conductor on board; toilets are in the terminal, not on the platforms. ScotRail withdrew the airline-ticket rail discount on 1 April 2025 — use Advance fares instead of expecting half price.

Airport Security page: liquids, aerosols, gels and lighters under 100 ml in one clear resealable bag no larger than 20×20 cm; large electronics (laptops, hairdryers) out of the bag; devices must power on if asked. The airport states liquid restrictions remain in place — do not expect CT / 2 L leave-in-bag rules here. Empty bottles before the filter and refill at Par + Eagle or the Elvis Presley Bar airside (staff refill free). Boots and belts may need to come off — follow the lane signage. Destination airports on the return may differ; pack for the stricter end of the trip.

There is no Priority Pass, LoungeKey, DragonPass or paid day-pass lounge at PIK (confirmed absent on Priority Pass UK coverage lists and airport Shop & Eat). After security: World Duty Free, WHSmith, Par + Eagle Bar and Kitchen (breakfast through mains, kids’ options, open for all departing flights) and the Elvis Presley Bar (Elvis’s only UK touchdown was a 1960 refuel here). Landside: WHSmith plus McIntyre’s bar (April–October; under-18s not admitted because food is not served). Pre-order Duty Free online 24 hours to 30 days ahead for the marketed 10% Reserve & Collect saving.

Drop-off and pick-up sit in Car Park 1 directly outside the terminal. Airport parking table (gate prices from 1 April 2026): £4.50 up to 60 minutes, £8.50 for 1–2 hours, £14.50 for 2–4, £21 for 4–12, £33 for 12–24. Blue Badge holders get 30 minutes free — scan the badge at the exit barrier. All car-park payments are cashless. Car Park 1 has a 2.2 m height limit; coaches / minibuses over that must use Car Park 2. Car Park Three (across the A79 via the station walkway) is pre-book only and closed end of October through early March.
