Passport check after security for non-Schengen flights

Non-Schengen flights (Turkey, Egypt) have a police ID check after security.

Everyone goes through the same security checkpoint. For flights outside the Schengen area, such as Turkey and Egypt, the Federal Police check your ID or passport after security. Coming back from a non-Schengen flight, you pass passport control first, then collect your bags on the ground floor and go through customs.

Two places to eat, before and after security

Belair (landside, runway view) and Grand Café De Horizon (airside).

Brasserie-Restaurant Belair is on the 1st floor of the departure hall. It is open to everyone and looks out over the runway. After security, Grand Café De Horizon (boarding pass only) sells take-away sandwiches, coffee and drinks, and the airport says it opens for every flight. There is also a Duty Free shop and a small newspaper kiosk airside.

Ostend-Bruges International Airport (IATA OST, ICAO EBOS) is on the Nieuwpoortsesteenweg about 5 km southwest of Ostend, just behind the Belgian coast. It has one compact passenger terminal and a 3,200 m runway, and also handles a lot of cargo.
In 2025 the airport handled 404,076 passengers, up 15% on 2024 (352,662), according to the airport and Statistiek Vlaanderen.
TUI fly Belgium is the only scheduled passenger airline. Its holiday flights go to Spain, the Canary Islands, Greece, Turkey and Egypt.
In summer 2026 (April to October) the airport listed 13 destinations, among them Malaga, Alicante, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Palma, Ibiza, Murcia, Chania, Heraklion, Rhodes, Antalya and Hurghada.
In winter (November to March) the airport lists Alicante, Malaga, Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Hurghada. In winter 2025/26 TUI fly flew to Hurghada every Monday.
Check-in desks open 2 hours before departure. The airport recommends arriving 1.5 hours before your flight.

There is one compact passenger terminal. Check-in is in the departure hall, Belair is on the 1st floor, and security leads straight to the gates.
Non-Schengen flights have an extra ID check by the Federal Police after security.
Arrivals from non-Schengen countries go through passport control, then baggage reclaim on the ground floor, then customs.
The airport also handles a lot of cargo: 22,899 tonnes in 2025.

Bus: De Lijn line 60 (Oostende – Luchthaven – Nieuwpoort – Koksijde – Veurne) stops right in front of the terminal. Check current times in the De Lijn app.
Taxi: registered taxis wait in front of the terminal. The airport lists Taxibond Oostende (+32 59 70 27 27).
Car: the airport is at Nieuwpoortsesteenweg 887, 8400 Oostende.
Parking: four zones, open 24/7 and covered by cameras. P1 (260 spaces) is in front of the terminal, and P2 (500), P3 (550) and P4 (125) are within walking distance. You can't reserve a space. There are 50 spaces for disabled badge holders. Pay at the terminals in the departure hall or in front of the main entrance, and check current rates with the operator, Parking L.O.
Hotel: ibis budget Oostende Airport (Accor) is close to the airport.
