Official OIAA peak windows are Terminal 2 04:00–07:00 and 19:00–23:00, and Terminal 4 05:00–09:00. TSA says under 20 minutes off-peak and 30+ when a bank hits.

CLEAR is staffed Terminal 2 06:00–17:00 and Terminal 4 06:00–19:00 — an 21:00 Southwest or late T2 departure is a Standard-lane problem. Family restrooms in both terminals are temporarily closed during the TSA expansion; plan around that.

No terminal rail. I-10, I-15, and SR-60 are the road access. Downtown Los Angeles is a 35–38 mile freeway or a Metrolink + shuttle exercise, not an LAX-style FlyAway at the curb
ONT Connect / Route 380 (Omnitrans): nonstop Rancho Cucamonga Metrolink ↔ T2 and T4. Official: weekdays every 35–60 minutes, weekends hourly, from about 04:16. Fare $2 or free with Metrolink. Exact cash on the bus if you do not have a ticket. First trips are early enough for the 05:00 T4 bank — still download the current Jan 2026 PDF / Transit app
Metrolink San Bernardino Line at Rancho Cucamonga is the LA Union Station path (~1h 20m rail). Not overnight like a metro. Ontario–East (Route 81, weekday/Saturday, Haven Avenue) is the Riverside Line connection — a different station, not the ONT Connect stop
The Ontario Connector Boring-style tunnel from Rancho Cucamonga was cancelled 3 Dec 2025 by the SBCTA board. Do not plan on it. Phase-2 California High-Speed Rail at the airport is still a proposal
Rideshare (Uber / Lyft / Opoli): official OIAA + Uber — inner curb at T2, T4, and the IAF. Look for Ride-Share Pick Up signs after baggage claim. Commercial shuttles and taxis use the center island. Verify plate / make / driver in the app. A TNC fee is in the airport rates schedule (about $5 pickup/drop-off in the FY26 table) and will show up in the quote
Taxi: official commercial-vehicle page; ranks on the outer/island curb. Confirm the live posted rate — do not reuse a 2019 LA-basin flat fare
Parking (official flyontario.com/parking/lots, cashless): Lot 2 in front of T2 and Lot 4 in front of T4 start at $10 / first hour (Premium $12 / first hour); Lot 3 between the terminals $25 / day; Lots 5 and 6 $20 / day with shuttle (Lot 5 is the walk-to-T4 value lot). Pre-book is usually cheaper than drive-up. FY25–26 airline rates letter also prints $35 terminal daily / $20 economy / $40 valet — the public lots page is what travelers should refresh the morning they park
Rental cars consolidate at the east-end ground transportation center; follow the shuttle signs, not a random curb runner
