Domestic departures use the terminal that opened on 14 May 2025, built from April 2023 beside the older complex. The first aircraft it handled was an Aeroflot arrival from Moscow. From 05:00 on 15 May 2025 every intra-Russian departure was moved here.

International departures stayed in the older terminal. Wikipedia’s reading of the split matches the operator’s plan: the new hall is domestic-only, and one older building is the international side. A further rebuild of that older international building is part of the programme through 2028, so the international front you see in 2026 is not the finished project.

Arrivals. The first phase of the 2019–2028 rebuild joined the domestic and international arrivals buildings. The new departure terminal was built next to that joined arrivals block. Follow the building you land at, not a single “main door” assumption.

Passport desks inside the domestic terminal (six of them) are in the Rosaviatsia specification. Domestic ID checks in Russia are not the same thing as departure immigration. International passport control is in the international building.

Wayfinding during works. The apron and terminal programme is unfinished. If a jet bridge is closed, the airport still has remote stands; the new hall’s 11 gates include only 5 bridges.

The Prophet Elijah chapel stands between the terminal fronts. It is a chapel, not a lounge and not a security bypass.

From Ground Transport & Parking

Marshrutka 11 (carrier IP Revtov) is the city bus. Railway station to the airport via Prospekt 22 Partsyezda, 50 Let Oktyabrya, Zheleznovodskaya, and the Caucasus highway. About 20–25 minutes, first trips near 06:30–06:34, last trips near 19:50–20:00, roughly every 23 minutes, a handful of minibuses. Cash only. Fare listings disagree, as above. There is no evening or night bus.
Rail. Mineralnye Vody station is the railhead, not the airport. From the station, suburban trains run toward Pyatigorsk, Essentuki, Kislovodsk and Zheleznovodsk. Fares and times are on the railway, not on the airport site, so they are not repeated here.
Taxi / Yandex Go. The airport is only about 4 km from the town, so a car is a short ride and the right choice when route 11 has stopped. No published flat fare was found on the operator pages.
Driving. From the town, the signed route uses the R-217 Caucasus highway and then the airport signs.
Parking. Published rates do not agree, so the barrier wins. A P1 listing and one parking write-up say the first 15 minutes are free, then 300 RUB an hour, and more than 4 hours is 800 RUB a day, with a repeat entry inside 60 minutes charged at 300 RUB. Older guides still print 250 RUB for 15–60 minutes, 350 RUB for the second hour, then 150 RUB an hour capped at 1,000 RUB a day, plus a separate long-stay lot at 600 RUB a day and a free lot. Lost-card fees in those older texts are 500 RUB. None of this is a substitute for the sign at the gate.
What there is not: a metro, an airport railway station, or a direct bus from the terminal to Kislovodsk or Pyatigorsk that the current route registry shows. Change in town.
