Many flights are only a few times a week. Somon Air's Moscow-Zhukovsky flights leave LBD in the evening, roughly 20:00–23:00, and Kazan is weekly. Check the exact day before you plan connections; a missed flight can mean waiting several days.

Khujand International Airport (IATA LBD, ICAO UTDL) serves Khujand, capital of Tajikistan's northern Sughd region. It lies in Buston (formerly Chkalovsk), south-east of the city, and is the country's second-busiest airport after Dushanbe.
It handled 799,200 passengers in 2024, the airport says, down 22% from about 1.03 million in 2023. The airport director said it was running at only about 30% of capacity.
Almost all flights are international, mostly to Russia. Somon Air flies to Moscow-Zhukovsky, Kazan, Surgut and Dushanbe (the only domestic route). Ural Airlines, Nordwind, UTair and S7 serve Russian cities, and Chengdu Airlines flies seasonally to Kashgar in China.
Six airlines serve the airport: one Tajik (Somon Air) and five foreign. None belongs to a global airline alliance.
The current passenger terminal opened on 1 October 2019 and is built for about 500 passengers an hour. The runway is 3,200 m long.
Most visitors need a visa. The UK government says British nationals must apply online for an e-visa through Tajikistan's official portal, evisa.tj, at least two weeks before travel.

One passenger terminal, opened on 1 October 2019 next to the older building, with capacity for about 500 passengers an hour.
After check-in and passport control, a single departures hall serves all gates. There are no airbridges: passengers walk or are bussed to the aircraft.
Airlines (October 2026): Somon Air (Moscow-Zhukovsky, Kazan, Surgut, Dushanbe), Ural Airlines, Nordwind, UTair, S7 (seasonal Novosibirsk) and Chengdu Airlines (seasonal Kashgar).

The airport is in Buston, south-east of Khujand. A taxi to the centre takes roughly 15–25 minutes (HonestAirport estimate).
Taxis wait outside the terminal. Fares are negotiated; agree the price first and use licensed taxis, as the UK government advises. App-based ride-hailing coverage in Khujand could not be confirmed.
