Most important tips
A compact traveler cheat sheet for timing, terminals, food, and disruption checks.
Kuwait Airways T4 counters open 3 hours before departure and close 1 hour out; the gate closes 20 minutes out (KU117 to JFK 90 minutes).
Jazeera’s published T5 airport check-in is the same 3-hour open / 60-minute close. April–May 2026 leftover told Jazeera passengers to report at Park & Fly 4 hours early and not go straight to T5 — confirm the current reporting point on the booking before you skip the terminal.
Fly T4 for Kuwait Airways and the foreign airlines moved here; fly T5 for Jazeera. There is no live Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 today.
T1 (Kenzo Tange, 1979) closed after the 3 June 2026 strike. T2 (Foster + Partners) has a 30 Nov 2026 civil-works deadline — not a passenger hall. T4 foreign-airline check-in is on the eastern side (from 17 June 2026). Do not treat leftover T1 Dasman listings as a walkable lounge.
T4 dine page live rooms: Starbucks airside 24 hours, McDonald’s 2F 06:00–18:00, Shake Shack GF 07:00–18:00, Delmonte 2F D3–D5 07:00–18:00.
The same T4 page marks Costa, Caribou, Raising Cane’s and McCafé closed. Kuwait is dry — no lounge alcohol. Duty Free is 24/7 airside (ground floor / 2nd floor). No posted bottle KWD tariff.
Priority Pass in the live terminals is Al Mubarakiya (T4 Gate B5, max 3 h, boxed meals) or Hayakom (T5 opposite Duty Free, max 4 h).
Kuwait Airways Bayan Premium in T4 is First/Business only — not PP. T1 Dasman / Dasman Premier / Pearl leftover listings are not a live campus while T1 is closed. PP does not list showers on either live card lounge.

3 lounges with access rules, hours, and verdicts. 2 rated worth it.
Do not quote T2’s leftover 25–50 million capacity, or Wikipedia’s leftover 13 million “current handling,” as 2025 traffic. PACA counted 14.93 million passengers in 2025.

Careem operates in Kuwait; a US-style Uber rank is not the default signed product.
Tip: Use Careem when the signed taxi rank is being ignored. Same 20–40 minute band as official zone 5 if traffic is ordinary.
T4: 1,800 short-term spaces, 657 long-term. T5 Terminal Car Park is 24/7 with a skybridge.

The live T4 card lounge after passport control, turn right near Gate B5. Priority Pass lists 00:00–23:59, max 3 hours, under-2 free, smart-casual, boxed meals while the buffet is suspended. Not the T1 Dasman rooms, and not Bayan Premium next door.

Add a photoJazeera’s T5 card lounge — Priority Pass now lists Hayakom (not leftover Pearl) after immigration on the 1st-floor departures level opposite Duty Free. 00:00–23:59, max 4 hours, no smoking including vaping. Older T5 Pearl leftover-smoke reviews are why this is depends, not a slam-dunk; PP’s live listing is smoke-free.

Jazeera’s published T5 airport check-in is the same 3-hour open / 60-minute close. Visa destinations must use a desk, not a T4 CUSS kiosk. April–May 2026 leftover told Jazeera passengers to report at Park & Fly 4 hours early — confirm the current reporting point on the booking.

Al Mubarakiya near T4 Gate B5, or Hayakom opposite T5 Duty Free
Poured or sealed water once you are in Al Mubarakiya or Hayakom. Quality pick if you already hold Priority Pass or a KU cabin pass. Kuwait is dry — it is water, not a bar.
