Timing

Terminal hours follow the bank — winter charters are a different airport

Building and F&B track the departure programme — winter ski banks are crowded; shoulder-season HEL hops are quick.

Finavia contacts: the building opens two hours before the first departure and closes after the last departure. Café and Shop Kittilä are flight-tied. Off-peak HEL turnarounds are calm and compact; peak Levi/Ylläs winter banks (especially Christmas–New Year and February school holidays) can fill check-in, security, and the coach curb at once. Aim earlier than a typical Finnish regional airport in high season.

Terminal

One Finavia hall — do not confuse KTT with RVN / IVL / KAO

Single terminal; navigation is trivial — Lapland airport-code mix-ups are the costly error.

Check-in, security, Kittilä Café / Shop, and the gate / apron stands share one terminal. There is no pier train and no second passenger building. Mixing up KTT with Rovaniemi (RVN), Ivalo (IVL), Kuusamo (KAO), or Kemi-Tornio (KEM) on a Lapland multi-airport trip is the expensive failure mode — those are separate road journeys across the north.

Food

Kittilä Café + Shop — open with departing flights only

Real café/shop cluster when the bank is staffed — not a round-the-clock landside mall.

Finavia’s Shop Kittilä page places the shop next to Kittilä Café and states service follows departing flights (souvenirs, Finnish delicacies, tax-free drinks). Treat F&B as bank-tied, not a 24/7 food court. Eat in Levi, Ylläs, or Kittilä village before very early or last-of-day flights if you need a guaranteed meal.

Resort buses are the ski default; taxis cover gaps; pay parking in the app.

Finavia’s public-transport page: Tunturilinjat for Levi, Liikenne Rundgren for Ylläs, Matkahuolto for Muonio/other — off-season often requires advance booking. Taxi curb is flight-tied left of the entrance; pre-booked cars use the right side. Self-drive parking is cheaper in EasyPark/Moovy/ParkMan than at the lobby machine.

Kittilä Airport (IATA KTT / ICAO EFKT) is Finavia’s western-Lapland leisure gateway at visiting address Levintie 259, 99100 Kittilä (postal P.O. Box 88, 99101 Kittilä). About 5 km from Kittilä municipal centre; Levi ski resort is ~15 km and Ylläs ~35 km. Official site: finavia.fi/en/airports/kittila. Airport information & parking +358 (0)200 14919. Finavia passenger workbook (Passengers by Airport 1998–2025): Kittilä handled 445,911 passengers in calendar 2025 (+8.3% YoY vs 411,718 in 2024), of which 189,189 domestic and 256,722 international. Wikipedia’s Finavia-sourced table matches the same 2025 total. Winter leisure and ski charters dominate; summer is quieter with Finnair Helsinki as the year-round spine — always verify live FIDS for seasonal European leisure flights.
Single passenger terminal on a public Finavia commercial airport (fully civilian passenger operation). Finavia public-transport page lists bus links to resorts — Tunturilinjat Oy (Kittilä Airport–Levi), Liikenne Rundgren Oy (Airport–Ylläs), plus Matkahuolto for Muonio and other connections; summer/off-peak transfers are often on-demand and need advance booking. Taxi stand left of the main entrance; pre-booked taxis on the right (Levi-Kittilän Taksit Oy, Accessible and Minivan Taxi Service Hettula Oy, Lähitaksi Levi, Let’s Go Taxi Levi). Car hire desks: Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Europcar, Hertz, Scandia Rent, Sixt, ArticRent (some reservation-only).
