AirportExpress €10/~25 min to Hbf; or VRR 490+U47 ~€3.80/~40 min.

Direct AirportExpress (airport-operated, not VRR) links the terminal curb (departures / level 1) with Dortmund Hbf in about 25 minutes non-stop; the fare is €10 adult / €2 under 15 / free under 6, and Deutschlandticket, VRR and Rail&Fly tickets do not apply. For the cheap route, take DSW21 bus 490 to Aplerbeck then U47 into the centre (~40 minutes total); VRR Preisstufe A EinzelTicket is €3.80 adult / €2.10 child from 1 Jun 2026 (DSW21/VRR table). AirportShuttle to Holzwickede Bf is €3 adult / ~6 minutes (not VRR, Rail&Fly accepted), then RE/RB/S-Bahn onward. Taxi ranks are on arrivals (level 0); expect roughly mid-€20s+ to the centre on the meter (traffic-dependent). A40 (B1) works can slow the buses.

Classic 100 ml; Fast Lane online-only at checkpoint B.

Official DTM security pages still publish classic EU liquids rules: ≤100 ml containers in one transparent resealable 1 L bag. Departures checkpoints A/B/C are freely choosable; paid Fast Lane exists only at checkpoint B and must be bought online via ParkVia (no desk sales). Third-party booking pages commonly quote around €7 — confirm the live ParkVia price for your flight. Airport guidance: allow 90–120 minutes for check-in even with online boarding passes, be at the gate ≥40 minutes before departure, and plan to be at the airport ≥2.5 hours early when using Fast Lane advice pages. Non-Schengen / UK / Turkish leisure banks add Bundespolizei time.

No PP/walk-in lounge for airline passengers; GAT is separate.

Priority Pass’s Germany directory has no Dortmund commercial lounge entry, and traveler/editorial sources confirm there is no walk-in or Priority Pass lounge for scheduled passengers. The comfortable lounge described on the airport site sits in the General Aviation Terminal and is for GAT clients (business/private aviation), not Wizz/Condor/Pegasus passengers. Expect to wait airside at WESTBar, Heinemann seating, or gate seating — or stay landside at Südbar (by checkpoint A, 06:00–20:00) until you clear security.

No free fountains; Heinemann ~€1.50 tetra or Südbar/WESTBar bottles.

The airport’s own reply to independent German water surveys and WaterAtAirports updates through Jan 2026: no public drinking fountains. Best-value sealed water is commonly the Heinemann Duty Free 0.5 L tetra pack (~€1.50 traveler-reported); café bottles run higher. Landside, Südbar (next to checkpoint A, daily 06:00–20:00) sells coffee, soft drinks, and snacks; airside, WESTBar (toward gates 0–6, from ~04:30 until 30 minutes before the last departure) is the only sit-down refreshment point once you clear security. Heinemann Duty Free serves any departing passenger with a boarding pass, including domestic/EU flights (tobacco duty-free rules still follow destination).
