Be at the desk 4 hours before an international Air Senegal flight (Europe, USA); desks die 90 minutes out. Regional and domestic: 2 hours, desks die 60 minutes out.
The airport is ~43 km from Dakar on a toll motorway — the check-in clock starts after that drive, door screening, and the queue. Do not copy a leftover 60-minute international close onto a JFK or CDG departure.
Departures are upstairs, arrivals downstairs, six bridges plus remote stairs. DKR/Yoff is not your scheduled-passenger airport.
Phase-1 leftover 3 million / leftover 10 million by 2035 are capacity and a future expansion, not a second live terminal. TER to AIBD is still 'en cours de préparation' on ter-senegal.sn.
LAS does not list drinking fountains. Duty-free, Relay, Orane Café, Planet Kebab, Coffee Daily and the One Minute bar sit on the Main Terminal departure level.
No published FCFA bottle tariff — pay at the till. Lounge water is free once you are in Odysee, Topkapı or Ultimate. One Minute also has a landside food point in the public arrivals hall (opened 11 Nov 2023).
Show return or onward travel and arranged accommodation. Passport valid 6 months after arrival (FCDO). Yellow fever only if you arrive from, or transit, a listed risk country.
There is no live government eVisa to buy before a visa-free trip. Category B nationalities can still use visa on arrival at DSS only (Embassy of Senegal London). Do not fly into leftover DKR.

Compare prepaid private transfers to Dakar — useful overnight, with luggage, or when you want a locked-in fare before you land.
Signed airport taxis at the published LAS table. Péage is extra and on the passenger.
Tip: Confirm who pays the autoroute péage before the boot closes. Air Senegal leftover 15,000–21,000 public taxi is leftover-conflicting — sit the LAS table at the airport.
24/7 airport bus. Cheapest realistic public option until TER opens.
Tip: HLM Grand-Yoff stop is opposite Stade Léopold Sédar Senghor. Buses are timed around your airport appointment — this is not a metro frequency.
The live Dakar apps. Uber is not live. Bolt is not live.
Tip: App cars may have to deadhead 43 km — do not assume a 3-minute pickup. Pin level 0 / signed taxi-shuttle bays, not the 2,000 FCFA drop-off shelf.

Tip: ~700 cars / 60 buses / 60 taxis and private shuttles. Drop-off at the departure curb is 5 minutes free, then 2,000 FCFA every 5 minutes.

Night drive to Plateau can be ~40–50 minutes once you are on the autoroute.
