Dresden, Germany · Europe
Excellent under-terminal S2 and a walkable single terminal make DRS easy, but thin dining, no free water, classic 100 ml security, and a leisure-skewed board keep the score just above 7.
Editorial 0–10 from comfort, navigation, food, transport, and disruption resilience — not a Google rating.

Most important tips
A compact traveler cheat sheet for timing, terminals, food, and disruption checks.
Fastest cheap city link — ~21 min to Hbf on a Dresden-zone ticket.
Dresden Flughafen station sits under the terminal (escalators/lifts to arrivals, departures, and the gallery). Official airport timing: ~21 minutes to Dresden Hauptbahnhof and ~14 minutes to Dresden-Neustadt, every 30 minutes. Mon–Fri some S2 trains continue to Heidenau/Pirna. Buy a VVO Einzelfahrt Tarifzone Dresden (€3.60 from 1 Apr 2026, max 1 hour) — Deutschlandticket also covers the ride. Buses 77 and 80 stop at the terminal curb if you need a tram interchange (Infineon Nord / Grenzstraße) instead of the train.
No published CT liquids waiver — plan the old hand-luggage ritual.
DRS follows standard EU cabin-liquid rules: containers ≤100 ml in one transparent resealable 1 L bag, electronics out. Body scanners are in use on screening lanes, but the airport has not published a CT hand-baggage exemption like FRA T3 / BER / MUC. Arrive ~2 hours before leisure/charter banks when check-in and security queues build.
Sole airside lounge; breakfast to 11:30, then hot/cold lunch.
Airside Level 01 departures (Global Lounge Network). Priority Pass, LoungeKey, Lounge Pass, OnPass, GLN membership/day pass; walk-in €30 on site. Free for many Lufthansa Group Business and status-from-Gold passengers (plus listed Eurowings BIZclass rules). Priority Pass max stay 4 hours; one child under 12 free per cardholder. Apron/runway views; closes 21:00 — late evening charters may miss it.
Zero documented free water; budget for bottled purchases.
Independent German airport water surveys list Dresden with no passenger drinking fountains. Grab bottles at landside shops/cafés or the curb food trucks before security; airside beDUTYfree and the BERetail café charge more. Free Wi-Fi is capped at two hours per day with no registration.
Sole airside lounge (Global Lounge Network), Level 01 departures with apron and runway views. Breakfast until 11:30; hot and cold dishes after; soft drinks, beer, wine, and spirits. Free Wi-Fi, work desks, and charging. Barrier-free. Compact but quieter than the gate hall. Closes 21:00 — late evening flights may miss it.
