Fly international out of T3 and domestic out of T2. There is no airside corridor. Budget a full landside transfer (immigration + bags + walk) for any international-to-domestic connection, including Zanzibar.

Priority Pass: go to Twiga opposite Gate C4 first (4.6/319, showers, prayer room, kids' area). If Twiga is full or you want a 4-hour cap instead of 3, CIP toward Gate C6 is the second T3 room (4.5/325). Skip Equity Aviation in T1 unless your aircraft actually leaves T1.

Walk-in at Twiga is USD 35 (operator). That is cheaper than a wasted hour in the hold if you have no lounge card and a long EK/QR/KL wait.

Bolt is the live app. Uber ended Tanzania service on 30 January 2026 — do not stand at arrivals refreshing Uber. Official taxis have a green ribbon and the TAA logo; agree the fare before you sit down.

Drop-off and pick-up curbs are 10 minutes, engines on, driver in the car. Longer than that is a seize risk — use short-term parking.

If you continue to Zanzibar, buy ZIC inbound travel insurance before that sector. Other policies are not accepted for Zanzibar entry.

Wi-Fi SSID on the TAA page is Airports free wifi. Do not hunt leftover "JNIA Free Wi-Fi".

EAC and most SADC ordinary passports are visa-free. UK, EU, US, Canada, Australia, India, Nigeria, Pakistan and New Zealand are not in that visa-free Commonwealth leftover — check the immigration list, then pay.

Give Terminal 3 a full 3 hours with bags

TAA international check-in is 3 hours with hold luggage, 2 hours without, 1 hour with a boarding pass.

The drive from the city is the other half of that clock. Peak traffic on Nyerere Road will erase a leftover 90-minute plan.

T3 has self-check-in kiosks if your airline supports them.

Watch-out

Several checkpoints (airline, security, immigration) even when each line is short.

Treat T3 and T2 as two airports

International is T3, domestic is T2, and there is no airside walk.

Zanzibar, Mwanza, Kilimanjaro and Arusha connections mean bags, immigration and a landside transfer. T1 is GA/VIP, not a hidden international gate.

Watch-out

A tight I-D connection will miss.

Twiga first, CIP if you need four hours

Twiga opposite Gate C4 is the PP room to walk to (4.6/319, showers). CIP toward Gate C6 is the 4-hour backup (4.5/325).

Equity Aviation in T1 is a different building. Walk-in at Twiga is USD 35 if your card is missing from the app.

Open Bolt — do not open Uber

Uber left Tanzania on 30 January 2026. Bolt and green-ribbon official taxis are the live options.

Agree the taxi fare before you sit down. Curb waiting is 10 minutes. DART BRT does not serve the terminal yet.
