Domestic ~75–90 minutes when quiet; international ~2–2.5 hours; terminal transfers are additive.

Domestic cabin-bag passengers who already know the Airtrain or kerbside drop can often work with about 75–90 minutes curb-to-gate when queues are calm. International check-in plus security and passport control still wants about 2–2.5 hours on a normal day — longer in school holidays, Christmas/New Year, and when BAC is relocating passport control / security as part of Future BNE. Same-day domestic↔international connections must clear landside (passport/customs on intl arrivals) and ride the free transfer bus or Airtrain — treat that as real clock time, not a walk.

All passport flights use the International Terminal, including Qantas and Jetstar international services. Domestic Qantas/QantasLink check in at the northern end of the Domestic Terminal; Virgin Australia at the southern end; Jetstar/Rex/others in the centre. Boarding passes may say T1/T2 or Terminal I/D — same split. There is no airside walk between buildings.

Use Escape / Plaza / airline lounges when entitled; domestic PP is eat credit, not a lounge.

International airside has Plaza Premium (when open) and Escape Lounges as pay / Priority Pass options, plus airline rooms. Domestic dining is stronger in the central food courts; Priority Pass here is mostly a restaurant voucher, not a soft lounge. Landside coffee before security is fine if you still need time for queues.

PP → Escape first; Plaza Premium has a Sep–Dec 2026 closure window; trust live boards for Future BNE detours.

Priority Pass lists Plaza Premium closed for refurbishment from 15 Sep 2026 with a scheduled reopen 01 Dec 2026 — open the live PP app the day you fly. Escape Lounges (06:00–01:00, Level 4 mezzanine near Gates 81–82) remains the primary contracted soft lounge. Future BNE works are also moving international passport control toward the check-in level and keep changing temporary signage.
