Winter-sun UK/DE changeover mornings are when ACE feels smaller than its passenger count—arrive earlier than the resort transfer suggests.

UK and German traffic dominate international flows (Aena: >60% of international), with Ryanair, Jet2, easyJet, TUI and other holiday carriers stacking early and late banks—especially winter-sun Saturdays. Build about 2.5 hours for peak non-Schengen departures; quiet midweek Schengen and inter-island troughs are gentler.

Compact dual-terminal campus: the failure mode is lingering in the wrong building or pre-border when your flight needs passport control.

Most European leisure flights use Terminal 1; Terminal 2 still handles inter-island / Guacimeta-side traffic. After T1 security you reach the boarding zone, Guacimeta lounge, and shops—non-Schengen add passport/EES time before the gate. Follow T1/T2 and Schengen vs non-Schengen signs before settling in.

Functional leisure-airport F&B—not a food destination. Plan calories before security or inside Guacimeta.

Expect Spanish airport chains, coffee counters and grab-and-go after screening in T1. Guacimeta is the calm food-and-drink reset if you have Priority Pass or buy Aena day entry; otherwise eat a real meal before security when FIDS is solid UK/DE metal.

Delays are usually people-processing and weather-on-the-runway edge cases—pad the landside clock and verify you are booked into ACE.

One commercial runway and usually mild Atlantic weather keep ops steadier than fog-prone island peers, but calima dust, strong wind and stacked leisure departures still bite. Check Aena FIDS and your airline app before leaving the hotel—and confirm ACE, not a Tenerife or Fuerteventura code.
