Most important tips

Know before you go

A compact traveler cheat sheet for timing, terminals, food, and disruption checks.

Timing

2.5–3 hours for international

Security is fine. Gate changes from T3 works are the new variable.

Security is usually short. Immigration is the peak-hour variable (roughly 07:00–09:00 and 18:00–20:00). T3 North Concourse and T3 works cause occasional gate shifts — check the official app before you walk.

Terminal

Landside Skytrain is gone — shuttle or MRT

Do not stand on the landside Skytrain platform. It is closed.

From 1 Jul 2026 the public landside Skytrain is closed. Free 24h shuttle (day ~15 min / night ~20 min headway) or free A12↔A13↔A14a MRT with e-payment. Airside Skytrain for connections still runs. EVA is T2-only; China Airlines uses both.

Status

EVA / Star in T2 — Plaza Premium is real

Star Gold goes to EVA T2. Priority Pass goes to Oriental Club or Plaza Premium.

EVA Infinity / The Star / Garden / The Club are T2 Star / EVA rooms. China Airlines Dynasty, Cathay, Qantas and STARLUX sit in T1. Plaza Premium is a real TPE brand (four rooms) — not a CTU leftover. Oriental Club remains the usual independent food pick. Confirm Zone A / C renovation status on the Plaza Premium site.

Transport

MRT Express NT$160 — not a last-train guess

NT$160 Express is the default. Confirm the last train; do not memorise 22:55.

Official published fare Taipei Main↔airport is NT$160 for Express and Commuter (TYCG restored the full fare from 2 Jan 2025). EasyCard / contactless work. Free hops A12↔A13↔A14a with e-payment. Last Express toward Taipei is late evening — check TYMETRO on the day; commuter trains continue later. Kuo-Kuang 1819 is the 24h bus backup.
