Most important tips

Know before you go

A compact traveler cheat sheet for timing, terminals, food, and disruption checks.

Timing

Arrive 3 hours early — questioning is the delay

The interview, not the metal detector, is why you need three hours.

IAA-style security includes an interview as well as the X-ray. Carry-on only is faster. Peak morning banks add 30–60+ minutes. Paid VIP escort products exist; treat live quotes as the price, not a blog number.

Terminal

Confirm T1 vs T3 — international arrivals are still T3

Train station is under T3. T1 passengers use the free 24/7 shuttle.

From 28 Jun 2026 T1 handles Ramon domestic arrivals/departures. From 1 Jul 2026 some international departures process entirely in T1. Every international arrival still lands in T3. Some airlines use both. Check the IAA flight board.

Status

Do not count on Priority Pass

El Al status or a paid Aspire/Jetex visit. Not Priority Pass.

Dan Lounge closed 31 Dec 2025. Priority Pass is not accepted at TLV. Aspire (E) and Jetex (C) are paid / Israeli Amex Platinum–Centurion paths — US Amex and most international cards do not get free entry. El Al status still unlocks King David / Top Platinum.

Transport

Train ₪11.50 — except Shabbat

Train when it runs. Sherut or Gett on Shabbat.

T3 Level S to Tel Aviv HaShalom / Savidor / HaHagana is the under-15 km Derech Shava single (₪11.50). Rav-Kav or an official payment app — not cash at a window. No Friday-evening / Saturday service. Sherut vans and licensed taxis cover Shabbat. Gett or the official rank beats a tout.
