Most important tips

Know before you go

A compact traveler cheat sheet for timing, terminals, food, and disruption checks.

Timing

Hit security before 5 a.m. or after 9 a.m.

Busiest TSA windows are 4–6 a.m. and midday peaks—PreCheck/CLEAR usually cuts waits to under 5–10 minutes.

Arrive 2 hours domestic; checkpoints close after the last flights (~12:30 a.m.).

Terminal

Walk the garage between A and B

Pedestrian bridges through the parking garage beat the shuttle for most connections—about 10 minutes door-to-door.

Terminal B requires the automated people mover after check-in/security to reach the gate concourse.

Food

Skip chains for local farm-to-fork

Prioritize Cafe Bernardo, Nixtaco, Magpie Café, Temple Coffee, or BAWK! over Wendy’s or Starbucks when you have time.

Most airside spots open around 4 a.m. until the last flight; gluten-free and vegan options are widely available.

Status

Check live parking before you drive

Garage and Daily lots fill and close often—use the official availability page or economy lots with shuttle buffer.

Economy shuttles every 25–30 min; allow up to 60 min total from far lots.
