RIX

Riga International Airport security wait times

What a normal day looks like at security here, and how to get through faster.

Flying from RIX?

Enter your flight for a door-to-door plan: when to leave, security, the lounge you can use and your gate. No account needed.

On a typical day

~12 min through security at RIX, from our airport directory. Early mornings and holiday weekends run longer.

Budget that on top of check-in or bag drop and the walk to your gate. For your exact leave-home time, enter your flight above: the plan uses the live wait when there is one.

Plan ~2 hours — classic 100 ml security, not CT leave-in-bag. Keep the old EU liquids drill; Fast Track (€10) is the peak-hour shortcut, not a liquids waiver.

How to get through faster at RIX

Classic 100 ml liquids — Fast Track only skips the queue
Airport liquids page still requires ≤100 ml containers in one ≤1 L clear bag.
Pack cabin liquids the old EU way: containers ≤100 ml in one clear ≤1 L bag per the airport liquids page. Empty open bottles before the lane; free ziplock bags are usually available near security prep areas if you forgot one.
Peak banks: buy RIX Fast Track for €10 (e-shop QR or Visitor Centre). Hours 04:00–00:00; coupon valid 12 months, one use with a boarding pass; under-12 free with a paying adult. It skips the standard security queue — it does not waive the 100 ml rule.
After security, follow Pier B vs Pier C and Schengen / non-Schengen signs before you sit down. Pier B is the primary Schengen pier; Pier C mixes Schengen and non-Schengen flows; older Pier A space is mostly arrivals-oriented.
Jet bridges and bus gates both operate — trust live boards. Connection passengers staying airside should still re-clear security rules for liquids when required by the transfer flow.
