Most important tips

Know before you go

A compact traveler cheat sheet for timing, terminals, food, and disruption checks.

Timing

Use the 90-minute PID ticket, not the 30-minute one

App 90-min is 46 CZK; paper 50 CZK; SMS 55 CZK (from 1 Jan 2026). The 30-minute ticket is not enough once you change to the metro.

Official PID table: trolleybus 59 to Veleslavín (Metro A) is about 35 minutes to the centre; bus 100 to Zličín (Metro B) about 45. Activate a Lítačka ticket at least 60 seconds before you board.

Terminal

T1 is non-Schengen; T2 is Schengen

Do not treat T1 and T2 as a casual airside walk. Changing area is a border crossing, not a shortcut.

PID examples: T1 = USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan. T2 = Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Poland. Confirm the terminal on the boarding pass.

Food

Lounge food is the only sit-down we will name

Eat in a lounge if you already have access. Otherwise buy after you know your gate, not from a third-party “must eat” list.

Official Erste / Visa pages sell all-inclusive snacks and drinks. We are not quoting unsourced café prices.

Status

Priority Pass is Erste Premier only

Walk-in Erste is CZK 1,030 / 2 hours. Visa Lounge walk-in is CZK 1,220 / 2 hours and includes its own security lane.

Live PP airport page lists Erste Premier T1 (05:30–22:00) and T2 (05:00–22:00), plus dining credits. Visa Lounge is a separate paid / Czech–Slovak Visa product.

Best for

Efficient Schengen departures

Watch out for

No direct metro/train
Crowded PP lounges at peaks
Short-term parking price hikes
