Most important tips

Know before you go

A compact traveler cheat sheet for timing, terminals, food, and disruption checks.

Timing

Arrive 2 hours — TSA opens with the flight

Official FAQ and construction cards: counters and TSA open two hours before each flight. Use two hours, especially for the 6–8 a.m. Allegiant bank.

Check-in closes 45 minutes prior. No kiosks. PreCheck lane is live; PGD is not a regular enrollment location. The Aug 4–7 2026 IDEMIA pop-up is over. CLEAR is not at PGD.

Layout

One building, walk-up ramps, gates 7–12 live

Bailey Terminal is one story. Gates 7–12 are open. Official pages still stamp new Gates 5–6, Wolfgang Puck, and a new TSA as coming soon.

No jetways. Lightning inside five miles stops ramp boarding and bags. Confirm FIDS — 2023 photos still show a Gate 5 sign from before this phase.

Food

The Junction after TSA; Dunkin’ in bags

Airside Junction opens 90 minutes before the first departure and closes with the last. Landside Dunkin’ Express is in baggage claim.

Pop-ups at Gate 3 (pastries, sandwiches, beer and wine) and Gate 9 (dry snacks, no alcohol). Wolfgang Puck is not open. Official pages do not map bottle fillers.

Live checks

No lounge, two airlines, long-term $12 + tax

Official pages have no club. Escape / Priority Pass lists do not include PGD. Allegiant plus seasonal Sun Country MSP only.

Short-term $24 + tax, no overnight. Cards only. Cell lot is free off Golf Course Blvd. Charlotte County Transit is a free reserved van, not a curb bus.

Live conditions

Right now at PGD

Security waits and operational status from official feeds, where the airport publishes them.

Honest verdict

Who this airport works for

Best for

Southwest Florida trips that can skip RSW and SRQ for Allegiant
Overnight parkers who will take the $12 + tax long-term lot
Domestic departures that can follow the official 2-hour clock

Watch out for

No passenger lounge — do not buy a third-party Escape PGD pass
No jetways; lightning inside five miles stops boarding and bags
Wolfgang Puck and new Gates 5–6 are still coming soon
No kiosks; counter check-in closes 45 minutes prior
Short-term is $24 + tax and is not an overnight lot
