Building may be open, but F&B and security track the departure banks — do not assume midnight café service.

Finavia’s contacts page lists the airport open 24/7, but explicitly says services open according to departing flights. Oulu Cafe / Oluthuone Toppila / the shop close when security closes. For a typical Finnair Helsinki bank, 60–90 minutes before STD is usually enough in this single terminal; add buffer for the first morning wave, winter weather, or if you need the airside kitchen (weekday lunch window only).

Single terminal; navigation is trivial — airport mix-ups with HEL / RVN / Lapland codes are the expensive error.

Check-in, security, Oulu Cafe / Toppila, Shop, Hailuoto seating, and the jet-bridge / apron gates share one compact terminal. There is no pier train. Confusing OUL with HEL, RVN (Rovaniemi), KAO (Kuusamo), KTT (Kittilä), or KEM (Kemi-Tornio) on a multi-city Finland itinerary is the failure mode — those are separate ground trips.

Real airside café/pub/shop cluster, but flight-tied hours and a narrow weekday kitchen window.

Finavia’s gate-area cafe page: freshly baked goods, snacks, specialty coffee; Oluthuone Toppila next door for burgers and drinks; Shop for cosmetics, sweets, reading, and tax-free alcohol. Kitchen Mon–Fri 12:30–18:00; the whole airside food cluster shuts when security is closed. Landside options are thin outside flight banks — eat in Oulu centre if you need a guaranteed meal before an early departure.

Buses 8/9 are the cheap default; taxi lanes cover gaps; P2 undercuts P1 for multi-day parking.

Finavia’s public-transport page: city buses 8 and 9 serve the airport — check live departures on oulunliikenne.fi. OSL adult single (app / contactless) €2.90; cash from driver €5.00 (2026 published fares; night cash doubles 23:00–04:30). Taxi rank uses lanes 1–2 (OTAXI) and lane 3 (FixuTaxi / Kovanen). Kiss & Fly is the outer curb lane — no waiting. P2 is the cheaper long-stay lot if you self-drive.
