Follow signs from arrivals to the covered airport rail station for CFR Călători’s București Nord ↔ Henri Coandă Airport service (~20–25 min; roughly every 40 minutes around the clock). Official single tariff from 14 Dec 2025 is 6.50 lei if bought at the ticket office, kiosk, CFR website/app, contactless POS on the train, or SMS — but 13 lei if you buy from the conductor after boarding, so purchase first. Optional seat reservation is 4.50 lei. Some trains also call at Parc Mogoșoaia / Patinoar PO. For Piața Unirii / Victoriei / Română without changing at Gara de Nord, take STB express bus 100 (replaced the old 783 on 2 Dec 2023): standard 3 lei metropolitan 90-minute ticket (consiliu.stb.ro), contactless bank card / 24Pay / ACTIV card on board, typically every ~15–20 min daytime and ~30 min overnight. Bolt/Uber/Blue pickups are signposted from arrivals — ignore touts inside the hall.

Originating OTP: up to 2 L LAG containers; transfers still 100 ml.

CNAB (via AGERPRES, 11 Mar 2026) confirmed that passengers whose journey originates at Henri Coandă or Băneasa may carry liquids, aerosols and gels in individual containers of up to 2 litres after next-gen cabin-baggage scanners went live (13 CT units at OTP per Euronews Romania reporting). Transit and transfer passengers must still follow the classic ≤100 ml / 1 L bag rule for onward airports that have not waived LAGs. Laptops and large electronics are often left in bags at CT lanes, but follow lane signage. Non-Schengen departures still need passport/EES processing after security — bank extra time for UK/IST/DOH/TLV banks.

Gate 3 Schengen + gate 9 Satellite; verify walk-in/PP live — do not assume.

The public passenger lounges are the airport-operated Business Lounge by boarding gate 3 (Schengen flow; often labelled Dacia Business Lounge) and the Satellite Business Lounge by gate 9 (non-Schengen finger). Entry is typically via airline invitation / premium cabin or eligible Romanian bank premium cards; secondary guides citing CNAB reception pricing list a paid walk-in around €45 with no advance booking — confirm the live tariff at the desk. Priority Pass’s public Henri Coandă page showed no available experiences when checked 30 Aug 2026, so do not plan a PP visit unless the app explicitly lists the lounge on your travel day. Lounges fill hard in the early Wizz/TAROM morning banks.

Free CNAB water stations (Apr 2026); OTP tap water potable since Feb.

CNAB announced (Romania Insider, 28 Apr 2026) that free hydration points with bottle fillers and fountains are live across Bucharest’s airports — ten stations shared between Otopeni and Băneasa, in public and restricted areas including gates and arrivals. Otopeni tap water has been treated as drinkable/microbiologically pure since February 2026 per CNAB’s director general. Empty your bottle through security if staff ask, then refill airside. Sealed shop water remains the backup when a station is queued or offline; airside F&B also sells Romanian comfort food (mici, sarmale) at café prices.
