From Best Airport Tricks & Hacks

Check krr.aero on the day you fly. The airport was closed to civil traffic for more than three years, and the hours published on reopening day were explicitly temporary.
The reopening-day window reported by The Moscow Times was 09:00–19:00 local. Use that only as the 11 September 2025 announcement, not as a promise for a later date.
A 2018 passenger total does not describe the airport you will find in 2026. Traffic had to restart from zero in September 2025.
Read the terminal on the ticket. Photographs show separate domestic and international buildings.
Do not assume a lounge program. This guide found no post-reopening access rules for a public lounge.
Southern Russian airports have had repeated airspace restrictions since 2022. Build slack into a connection.

SecurityTraveler Tips & Hacks

Re-check the day of travel

The airport's recent history is a multi-year shutdown, then a staged restart.

Rosaviatsiya's resumption announcement was 11 September 2025, with the first Moscow arrival scheduled for 17 September 2025. A booking is the proof a flight exists, not a 2018 timetable.

NavigationTraveler Tips & Hacks

Match the terminal to the ticket

Domestic and international passengers have separate buildings.

Photographs show both buildings on the same airport. This guide does not publish a walking time between them.

03

TransportTraveler Tips & Hacks

Budget a road transfer

About 12 km east of the city centre.

Use a taxi or whatever bus the airport currently posts. No fare is quoted here because none was verified for 2026.

Watch-out

No airport rail link is documented.

LayoverTraveler Tips & Hacks

Do not plan a tight connection

Hours at reopening were limited, and airspace restrictions in the south have been recurring.

The Moscow Times reported 09:00–19:00 until further notice on reopening day. Leave a wide buffer if you are connecting the same day.
