Know before you go

A compact traveler cheat sheet for timing, terminals, food, and disruption checks.

Timing

Airlines pad three hours

HK Express and other T2 carriers tell passengers to arrive three hours before departure.

HK Express kiosks close 75 minutes before departure and bag drop closes at 60 minutes. Midfield and west-pier gates add an APM or 10–15 minute walk.

Terminal

T2 is check-in only

Fifteen regional airlines check in at T2; boarding gates and arrivals remain in T1 until T2C opens.

After T2 facial-recognition security and immigration, ride the APM to T1 for boarding. Bags still come out in T1 arrivals.

Food

T1 still has the real food hall

Airside T1 is the dining terminal; T2 is a check-in building with a 24-hour food court.

T2 departures has a food court (four outlets plus a convenience store run 24 hours). Do not count on it matching T1 airside.

Status

Kyra beats Plaza for Priority Pass

Gate 23 Kyra is the Priority Pass room to walk to; Plaza visits are capped at two hours.

Live Priority Pass and LoungeKey list both Kyras plus three Plaza rooms. DragonPass lists the three Plazas and Club Autus, not Kyra.
