Check-in opens about 3 h ahead and closes 40 min before departure; arrive 2–3 h early.

Check-in usually opens about 3 hours before departure (your airline sets the exact time) and closes 40 minutes before. The airport recommends arriving at least 2–3 hours ahead. International passengers also clear customs and passport control, so leave extra time for flights abroad.

Single terminal: check-in downstairs, separate domestic and international departure zones upstairs.

All flights use the same terminal. You check in on the ground floor, then go up to security on the second floor, where domestic and international departures have separate zones and separate business lounges. Arrivals and baggage claim are on the ground floor.

Coffee and snacks downstairs; cafés and the Vysota bar upstairs in departures.

The airport lists M9 Roasters and Kofe Eda Vino (Coffee Food Wine) on the ground floor, and the Free Fly café, Coffee Cake, Holy Moly and the Vysota bar (domestic zone) on the second floor. Shops sell souvenirs, regional delicacies, jewellery and toys.

Frequent overnight restrictions in autumn 2026; expect knock-on delays.

Rosaviatsia regularly restricts flights at Nizhny Novgorod during drone alerts, mostly at night. On 15 October 2026 the airport was restricted from 04:00 to 10:17 and morning flights left hours late. Check your flight status before leaving for the airport.
