Dubrovnik, Croatia · Europe
Konavle’s peak-summer leisure gateway at Čilipi: Terminal C departures, Croatia’s longest runway, three floor-3 lounges with Priority Pass, Platanus or Libertas into Dubrovnik — modern when calm, easy to underestimate in July and August.
Editorial 0–10 from comfort, navigation, food, transport, and disruption resilience — not a Google rating.

Most important tips
A compact traveler cheat sheet for timing, terminals, food, and disruption checks.
Peak-summer DBV is a leisure crush; shoulder/winter DBV is compact — pad for the season you actually fly.
May–September turnstile Terminal C; January can feel almost empty. Official monthly table: Aug 2025 543,733 vs Jan 19,856. Build far more check-in and security buffer on peak Saturdays than the building size suggests, and treat the D8 / coastal road into Čilipi as a delay risk in high season (airport drive guidance: 30–35 minutes normal, up to ~1 hour in summer). Single long runway 11/29 plus Adriatic thunderstorms and strong crosswinds can ripple banks even when the hall looks calm.
Modern Terminal C departures + B arrivals — easy layout, hard peaks when UK/DE/FR leisure banks stack.
Landside Terminal C: check-in / bag drop, self-service kiosks, security into the departure commercial zone, then gates; lounges upstairs on floor 3. Terminal B: arrivals, reclaim, taxi rank, meet-and-greet. Terminal A is not your departure front door anymore. Apron walks and bussing remain common on many stands. Re-read FIDS after the shops for Schengen vs non-Schengen holds. Meeting point: landside Terminal B arrivals after reclaim.
Café and retail cover the basics — budget for peak prices and August queues.
Expect café, bakery, and bar staples landside and airside plus Aelia / duty-free after security — fine for coffee and a plate. Long gaps are often better spent in Cavtat or Dubrovnik Old Town than fighting airside queues in August. Lounge food covers Adriatic / Sky / Atlantic guests only.
Platanus €10 is the simple city link; Libertas is cheaper if the sparse timetable matches your bank.
Official Platanus shuttle: airport ↔ Dubrovnik Old Town area and main bus station, flight-aware, published €10 one-way / €15 return (under-6 free) on platanus.hr — buy online, at the airport counter, or at the city bus station. Libertas lines 11, 27, and 38 are the cheap suburban option (cash to the driver is common; Konavle-zone singles are often around the €4 class — confirm live on libertasdubrovnik.hr; many runs skip Sundays/ holidays). Taxi rank outside Terminal B arrivals during airport hours; ride-hail works but summer surge is real.
