From Best Airport Tricks & Hacks

Arrive early in high season, not “island early.” CFU’s building is compact; its summer schedule is not. 2.5–3 hours before a busy Extra-Schengen departure is rational.
Know your airside country before you hunt a lounge. Goldair is Extra-Schengen only after passport control — Intra-Schengen and domestic boarding passes get you food, not CIP.
Priority Pass is seasonal capacity, not a guarantee. Airport shop page limits Goldair ops to 28 Mar–31 Oct 2026, 10:00–24:00. Open the app the morning of travel.
Cabin-bag-only wins twice — shorter landside queue outbound, no carousel fight inbound when three charters unload together.
Pre-book the ride to your resort. Paleokastritsa, Sidari, Glyfada, Kavos, and west-coast hotels are easy by road but painful with no plan at 00:30 after a delayed charter.
City-bound? Blue bus Line 15 or the official taxi stand opposite Terminal A — ignore lobby touts. Bus stop sits in front of Terminal Building A.
Screenshot the boarding pass offline before you enter thick terminal crowds.
Hydrate for the apron. Remote stands + Ionian summer sun are a real combination; buy the regulated water bottle before boarding calls.

SecurityTraveler Tips & Hacks

Pack classic 100 ml LAG bags

HCAA rules still expect ≤100 ml containers in one ≤1 L clear bag — CFU does not publish a CT leave-in-bag waiver.

Free bags are usually available at screening. Empty bottles at the designated facility before the checkpoint; refill airside at washroom taps or buy a regulated kiosk bottle landside. Duty-free STEB liquids need an intact seal and visible receipt if you re-clear security. Fast Lane is airline-sold (e.g. Sky Express lists CFU from about €6).

Pro

Predictable EU leisure-airport rules — no guessing a waiver that is not advertised.

Watch-out

Peak-summer security lanes still move slowly when three charter banks overlap.

02

LoungeTraveler Tips & Hacks

Confirm Extra-Schengen + season in the live app

Goldair is the only published CIP room and only for Extra-Schengen departures after passport control — Intra-Schengen flyers have no lounge.

Airport shop page: 28 Mar–31 Oct 2026, everyday 10:00–24:00. LoungePass directions: Level 1 Extra-Schengen after passport control, opposite Gate 5; max stay commonly ~3 hours. Mid-winter access is often simply closed.

Pro

Named Goldair CIP with Greek buffet food when in season — rare for a compact Ionian leisure field.

Watch-out

Useless for domestic/Intra-Schengen boarding passes; walk-up prices and PP capacity rules change.

03

TransportTraveler Tips & Hacks

Line 15 for town; pre-book for resorts

Budget path is Astiko KTEL Line 15 in front of Terminal A (€1.30 Zone A); west-coast nights need a transfer plan before you land.

Airport bus page points to astikoktelkerkyras.gr. Taxi stand is signed opposite Terminal A (~10 minutes into centre on historical Fraport guidance — confirm meter). Agree a named arrivals meeting point for hotel transfers — ignore curb touts.

Pro

Cheapest official path into Corfu Town when daytime buses are running; town is unusually close.

Watch-out

No rail; late charters and Paleokastritsa/Kavos resorts are painful without a pre-booked ride.

NavigationTraveler Tips & Hacks

Re-check Schengen vs Extra-Schengen after security

One campus, but lounge and some F&B access still follow the airside split — read the gate screen before you settle.

Goldair is Extra-Schengen only. Keep boarding passes handy for lounge doors and retail transitions. Compact walking distances once you are airside — wrong side wastes time during a tight bus-gate call.

Pro

Compact walking distances once you are airside.

Watch-out

Wrong side = wasted climb during a tight bus-gate call.

05

FoodTraveler Tips & Hacks

Eat on the flight bank — or in town

Named cafés cover calories when banks are running; Corfu Town still wins for a real meal.

Everest Exclusive / Forno Luca landside; Burger King / Breeze / French Bakery / Il Maestro on Schengen-accessible airside; Bentley’s / Camden Food / Grain de Ble / Pret on Extra-Schengen listings. Winter early banks can be thin outside the first café to open.

Pro

Clear branded options instead of anonymous snack counters.

Watch-out

Not a 24-hour food-court airport after the last wave.
